Well, that always happens. They promise something and when they win - all is forgotten. You're not surprised, I presume.

I'm not surprised. When politicians promise something you agree with, reconsider it twice or even seven times.

Politics 101.

Brits have been fed Euro-hate propaganda for a long time.
The saddest thing for me, is that the political party behind it has won, and it is now laid bare for all to see that they now are utterly lost as to how to proceed. It is now blatantly apparent that no plans what so ever were made for Brexit. Nothing. Literally nothing. Absolutely no plans, absolutely no preparation, absolutely no thought.

What will happen to Britain now, will depend on just how badly these same politicians mess up the coming international negotiations, treaties and trade deals.

The US presidential result to trump brexit as the worst voter mistake of modern times?

I have called US election Brexit 2.0 because the situation was completely same. Some my right-wing friends has predicted that Trump was going to win in September and you see, it was true.

Maybe, just M A Y B E, media and others will get lesson of not underestimating common citizens and The Left might learn that you cannot silence your opponents all the time with words such as racist, xenofob, homofob etc.

Neither were wise political moves.
Both were cries for help, from the disenfranchised of their respective countries.

The biggest difference between Brexit and Trump becoming the President is that the US can vote again in four years, and try to rectify their decision (or keep him in office if he turns out to be good) while the brits actually have to live with the consequences of their vote for quite some time...

This. US people even can shoot down Trump faster than in four years (using impeachment), if he do something especially wrong (and probability of such action is higher than zero). On the other hand it is still not clear, whether brexit really will be finished or not. According high court, brexit must be agreed in parliament - government can't do it on it's own (despite referendum results). And many representatives do not agree. Situation still will be interesting.

The probability of Trump doing something that could get him impeached is quite high if his past behaviour is anything to go by. I'm just hoping that now, once he actually becomes president, he will be surrounded with enough skilled politicians that the probability is sinking a bit. (I don't have high hopes, but maybe...)

Also, I think that a lot of his core voters will be sorely dissapointed by the many promises he made during his campaign, that he won't be able to follow through with. If Trump winning is a wake-up call to the media establishment, then I believe that Trump will be the wake up call for the people who decided the media needed a wake up call.

Regarding the Brexit, as a EU citizen, I believe that this is really not good for the union. But, as we can see in several countries around the world, isolation and 'looking out for number one' is the new black right now.

Well, act two is coming. UK prime minister will start exit procedure and negotiation about future relations between UK and EU. Brexit becomes real.

I was jut listened to UK prime minister Theresa May speaking on the subject, it seams clear to me that she doesn't know what she's doing. She is going to cut Britain off from the European Union, almost completely. Basically, everything apart form intelligence sharing and filling in the 'Chunnel'.
She is determined to take ALL of Britain out, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, despite Scotland and Northern Ireland voting to remain. All her talk of 'The People of Britain have spoken' implies a huge popular vote in favor of leaving, but the votes were pretty tight.

All votes
Total votes to leave:      17 410 742
Total votes to remain: 16 141 241

England
Total votes to leave:      15 188 406
Total votes to remain: 13 266 996

Wales
Total votes to leave:      854 572
Total votes to remain: 772 347

Northern Ireland
Total votes to leave:      349 442
Total votes to remain: 440 707

Scotland
Total votes to leave:      1 018 322
Total votes to remain: 1 661 191

I don't think she can split the country into two to please Scotland and Northern Ireland. They have a certain degree of autonomy, but they're not fully sovereign countries as they are part of the United Kingdom. The words she used aren't well chosen, but at least the measure a majority of citizens (including Scots and Irish people) have voted for will be applied as it was presented without endless delays and political procrastination ending up with nothing or a pseudo-solution.

I understand that Scotland might go for full independence from Britain, while Northern Ireland is less likely.

I think it is likely that it will happen a few years from now.
