Remember when Neytiri was banned from fb?
Well, Tstewa Ikrantsyìp was banned today for a fake name.
Why do they pick on us?

Well, FB is quite aggressive regarding their real name policy. One can bypass it by either accepting their policy or living in a country with strict personal data protection. I am more than one year on FB, and I am still alive there...

Recently there was the idea to issue ID cards by LN or somehow just to use it for identification. But there are a lot of open questions how to do and if this idea has a chance.

Other way would be: getting away from FB and start using our own solution (there are chat plugins for this forum available, for example). But yeah... it would not be the same like FB, of course...

Well, the best would be to not challenge the system after these events and use your real name (or a fake realistic one).
Sorry for Tstewa and Neytiri. :(

I once had a nickname as well, but changed it when they announced their real name policy. I really don't like what they did, and nearly deleted my account. But in the end, I acted like a yerik and complied :(

I am hoping this policy will catch up with them. I think there is a hidden reason for this policy and why they apply it so strictly, and it has something to do with advertising :(

I'm not sure how we would do something similar ourselves. User Ikxeru once suggested an alternative site, but it didn't seem like a friendly, or well-used place.

It's quite obvious that there is a hidden reason. Why else would they enforce it so strictly?

The reason is obvious. How does FB earn money? By using personalized ads and selling your data that means, the more your data is accurate, the more they earn money.
