I wonder how well that can scale? Modern factory farms have tens of thousands of acres of fields. May be hard to replicate with that method, but the concept is still very cool. Thanks for sharing!

Not only getting people "off the grid", but "off the farm" as well. All that land that used to be dedicated to agriculture can be given back to Mama Nature, even more if we can move this entire operation underground.

Also gotta hope they don't put gas wells in...near me, a lot of farms are leasing entire fields to fuel companies to put in natural gas wells. Not sure if this is common elsewhere in the world though.

While natural gas is supposedly cleaner-burning than other fuels, it's far from emission-free, not to mention methane is a greenhouse gas itself.
