Its a Cat1. nothing super devastating.

Tsanten Eywa 'eveng

the worst thing is that New York can look like this

It is been waiting that It can come up to 75-170mm in the most places of the storm, but It can come up to 400mm

I know. But Ekirä said she's in the path too and she's in ND...

North Dakota? Now I get why you were saying they were a lot closer to the storm than I was, I'm in Massachusetts. :P

Another person that came to mind: Swoka Ikran.  In Delaware if I'm not mistaken...
Pennsylvania actually. I'm in Chester County. We have a Tropical Storm Warning and Flood Watch. 5-10" of rain expected, and it's already the wettest month in the Philadelphia area's history. Winds expected to be between 50-70MPH. It's already been raining on and off here this morning, but is currently partly cloudy and dry. Local news maps indicate heaviest stuff comes late this evening.

My university (the Penn State campus in Media, PA) has a Hurricane Warning. :o

I spent the better part of my Friday night with my father getting a generator, which ultimately came from a store near Pittsburgh. Got the last one they had though (floor model), then had to haul it across the state.

My area currently has a bottled water, battery, and generator shortage. There was a gas shortage too, but they seem to have trucked more in to the local stations since they were all open again this morning.

Yeah, as people properly pointed out I do live in Maine but Skxawng lives in Baltimore. Don't worry about me, I doubt I'll even loose power for long (if at all). I've stocked up on water though, just in case. Good luck everyone!

Um, yeah.  I'm far away from the storm, in Wisconsin.  My father, on the other hand, is right in the path (Dutchess Co, NY, right next to CT).

Even though it is "only" a Cat-1, this is still a terrible storm for many parts of the area, which have already had a fairly wet time of it.  Even more rain, and sustained winds, will be more than enough to destabilize a lot of trees, roads, some buildings, etc.

And that means you're in the trajectory, ma 'eylan.  Ne kllte when it gets a little more exciting up there in your neck of the woods.  :D

Ekirä

Tsakem sayeiyi. ;D Although it seems like now what I'm going to get won't be too terrible, just a little bit windy. :P

Tirea Aean

just some rain and wind here.

Yeaaaahhhh that was a fail on Google Map's part and my part (mostly mine tho). I entered New England USA, it came up wit the city in ND and I didn't know any better.

All y'all out there please stay safe. I can't help worrying....

So far so good here, but I see some slightly scary stuff on Weather Channel from VA... floods

Txonä Unil Stä'nìyu Rolyusì

Update from Tirea: no evac order yet but a transformer down the street blew so he is without power. I hope everyone else is safe.

My power just came back on after 17 hours. 9:21pm to ~2:15pm. The storm was really intense overnight.

Roads here are covered in tree debris, but no major flooding. The two towns down the road are still without power.

Getting lots of tompa in Maine right now but the winds aren't expected to arrive till late tonight so we'll see what happens then.

Ekirä

It was pretty boring here, wind and rain all day and night but nothing we haven't seen before. Lots of leaves and sticks littering the roads, but no trees down in my yard. And although a bunch of Massachusetts residents lost power, it hasn't gone out for me. ;D

Swoka Ikran

powers out again...:(

Glad to hear y'all are fairing well :)

Oh and another update from Tirea: still without power but it's all bright and sunny now.

I hope everyone's power comes back soon.

In Québec we're only getting the "remnants" of the hurricane, but it is still somewhat bad. It's been raining very strongly all day and they say there have been winds of 50-120 km/h. Electricity has been gone during half an hour at my home, as well as several other times during a short while.

Ftiafpi

She's just about to hit me in an hour or two, shouldn't be much excitement but I wouldn't mind if I didn't lose power.
