Native wisdom at its very heart is intuitive.  Not only the animals but even the trees speak to one who knows how to listen.

Is there any wisdom in the voice of a concrete building?

No, just limited strength.

Interesting, thank you for this.

Yet, I think you don't need a native lifestyle or way of thinking to do good or wise choices. This can help living respectfully towards other people, certainly, but it won't "save the country", whatever danger they may see.

Thank you for sharing the article, I feel Avatar through its examples, story, and symboligy presents a very powerful respectful example of the world view of global native peoples through a lens we all relate to deep inside many very strongly from our hearts, Native wisdom asks us to see the world from our heart and Avatar presents its view in exactly this manor, in reading the many commits on the community forum threads speaking on this "fealing" I would not be at all suprised if this deep connective understanding came from a very intresting and profound place from inside but I would realy would like to hear peoples honest opinions on this many people say Avatar let them "see" the world through a new pair of eyes , take a look at comunity film Irayo made by "Alan" thanking James Cameron and his cast and crew Irayo Video when I mentioned this deep connective understanding that came from the heart I tryed to nail down or grasp where this "fealing" "came from" and took a look at many of the commits made on the diffrent Avatar forums message boards I ran into this time and time again and it also deals with the profound sadness that some experence given the label Post Avatar Depresion that came from the media who only "see' one side of the coin "attachment to fantasy" But fail to see the other side behind the Bridge of understanding that Avatars "Mirror" story touches on deep inside our hearts that points to in our very "real" world issues "reflected" through our own "memorys and understanding" anyone who studys Native wisdom understands just
how much respect "Ancesters" and there wisdom represent in native Cultural-Spiritual triditions handed down by spoken word and story for generations when people in the forums write "Why does it hurt? Because something ancient inside of us that we had sealed up and labeled "Forget it... the world doesn't support this thinking" had the dust blown off it and that seal torn off by a movie that demanded that we "look at it again", insisted that we reconsider the impossible, it grabbed us by the heart and said, Your time has come" they are posably speaking from a very real sublime Ancestral "Memory" this would also explain way "some" related so strongly to the films message and others only saw it as a cool effects driven film with a rather typical story. In taking a look at very real peoples that "mirror" Avatars story and have a strong message for our people I found the Kogi people of Columbia and there film "Aluna" The Kogi look at us as the Little Brother who does not "see" The word "Aluna" mirrors directly to
"Eywa" in Avatar by example and means  "Pure thought, "Memory" Spirit " Mind, Soul, Imagination" The Entity from which all things are born, in which everything is contained. In Aluna-(Eywa) there is the memory of the past and the potential for the future. Aluna formes the Bridge betwean the universe and the human spirit.  This is the creation story of the Kogi People who  "feel" the world from there hearts, It is there wish to "Teach us" to "see" and they feel it is the only way we will understand the issues our people face , We must "see" them ourselves "   http://www.alunathemovie.com/the-message " this is exactly
what James Cameron intended to do through example with Avatars Mirror story.

In looking at my previous posting I realise the focus of the Thread was on Lakota (Sioux peoples) and Native American Wisdom While The Kogi do share many Connections with Avatars story they do not represent native American native peoples culture or spiritual lore,  There is low bugget but very well researched made for TV Film Called "Dreamkeeper" that does quite good job in presenting authentic Lore storys of The Lakota and other Native American people's its a good example of just how powerful these storys can relate or "Mirror" issues as a troubled young man is asked to take his dying grandfather to the "All nations" Pow Wow in New Mexico, yes it takes patience to get to heart of whats spoken on and like Avatar shows the true power of mirror storytelling   and how the true wisdom behind these storys can "reflect" on persons life "today", Please form your own opinion, I will include two links the first is the start of the youtube film thread for "Dreamkeeper" the second is a documentery on the making of the mini series Dreamkeeper  "
