In responce in part on Chief Spence"s Hunger strike Started on December 11 2012  http://www.theglobeandmail.com/commentary/as-chief-spence-starves-canadians-awaken-from-idleness-and-remember-their-roots/article6700592/
Thousands of First nation peoples in Canada and Native and Non Native peoples around the world in London, Russia, The USA , England , The Ukraine , Egypt , and the Hawaiian islands to name a few have come together to support
Chief Spence and the First Nations peoples of Canada. In The United states main stream media coverage has been all but non exsistent and many are unaware of whats going on , Idle No More at its core is a Revolution of the Heart addresing very deep core issues effecting native peoples in our world today as well as issues many of our people feel deep inside But feel powerless to address when it comes to the treatment of Mother Earth. I hope people will reach out and offer there voice and support I know the Avatar community will relate to what is being spoken about.

Here is there mission statement:

Idle No More calls on all people to join in a revolution which honors and fulfills Indigenous sovereignty which protects the land and water. Colonization continues through attacks to Indigenous rights and damage to the land and water. We must repair these violations, live the spirit and intent of the treaty relationship, work towards justice in action, and protect Mother Earth.

On December 10th, Indigenous people and allies stood in solidarity across Canada to assert Indigenous sovereignty and begin the work towards sustainable, renewable development. All people will be affected by the continued damage to the land and water and we welcome Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies to join in creating healthy sustainable communities. We encourage youth to become engaged in this movement as you are the leaders of our future. There have always been individuals and groups who have been working towards these goals – Idle No More seeks to create solidarity and further support these goals. We recognize that there may be backlash, and encourage people to stay strong and united in spirit.

I had heard of Chief Spence's Hunger strike, but did not know precisely what contention was at the crux of it. I'm sad to say that the (multiple) petitions at Change.org is not clearly worded in a way that it's likely to garner wide support from non-First Nations people. They talk of "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing" and everyday Canadians (or Americans) are not going to believe that level of rhetoric.

I feel like I need to learn more about what the BILL actually is. I feel likely that it's something that is NOT good for our planet and the people of Canada, but I can't find any concise summary handily of what it is and is not.

Instead, I see the "battle" going on in the comments for the movement's MANIFESTO. They are very personal and ugly, as most things become online. Sadly.

Wendake, in Quebec city, is the a reserve for Wendats (a first nation people). I have appreciation to them. If anything bad happened to all them, I'll hope that their problem will be resolved.

I support Amerindians' culture. If they make this movement, it's because of their culture.
