Welcome to the Indigenous Cultures forum

Fundamental and primitive human cultures and their ancestral lands are under attack all over the world. One of the messages of AVATAR is that left unchecked, our modern civilization could eventually destroy our species' heritage under the banner of "progress". Many of the indigenous peoples of this world are content in their lives and their lands are deeply sacred to them. They resent the destructive invasion of egregious, greedy and self-serving corporations - and the governments that bow to them. The creator of Avatar, James Cameron, has historically been a supporter of these people and their lands. He is actively involved in real and current threats to the primitive world and with this film, is taking the awareness of these vulnerable cultures to a whole new level. We at LearnNavi.org support his efforts and urge you to do so as well.

Topics here include serious discussions about how we can help preserve the rich heritage of aboriginal and indigenous cultures on our planet. This is not a place to rant about political or religious agendas, although these topics are acceptable if supporting or promoting preservation efforts. Negative or defamatory posts will be moderated.

What can you do to help?
