Hey guys!
This is for the Avatar CD project started by Night Raider.
I started on some recordings of my works.

It's an extremely rough rough draft of a composition.
There's three kinds.
Just wanted to know which one you guys like/sound more plausible for a CD so i can focus a lot better...and before i post send it to Night Raider
Music1
Music2
Music3

I appreciate any comments and critiques on it. Just not to harsh to where you're just being stupid...
I want to get better at this.

took out the spoiler tags on this one. They were being stupid and irritated me ;)

Personally, I think the second one is more on the right path. It seems to have a vibe that I can closely relate to James Horner and his style. Keep it up, you're on the way.  :)

I agree, those tags are annoying how they function.

Sorry about the spoiler tags...

I just didn't want to take too much space that's all.

The melodies are reminding me of some familiar Celtic folk music.

I think version number 2 is the best here, although all pieces deserve attention.

You don't have to post send me anything... All I will need is the original master WAV of the recording.

It would really help if something like this could be recorded in a studio, or played out on a e-piano with direct recording to a computer. This way there will be much less hiss and noise, and it will make mastering a breeze.
Is this right? I just write whatever in the signature box?

Plumps

I can't decide which one could be part of the CD but I wanted to say in general how beautiful all 3 of them sound. I always have the highest admiration for people thus talented!

I do not access to anything such as a studio or an E-piano with direct recording to a computer. Just a regular piano and a movie/recording system on my camera.

Basically you want there to be less hiss and noise?
I'll go ask some of my friends if they have anything that can do this.
Hmmm wait, i have somethings called Auducity. Is that a good tool? My friend gave me the program (for some strange reason) but i haven't fiddled around with it yet.

Thank you for your comments though!

Ideally, we would need something with zero hiss and noise.

But recording a grand piano without it is impossible. For something to be included on a CD however, I am afraid you will need more than a camera to record movies. At least a recording with a decent studio microphone.

Gotta agree with Night on this one, it sounds nice there, but for something "live" like that you should see if you have any friends with a really good mic and record it. If you have a friend with even a small recording studio that would be best.

If all else fails, you could probably send the track to one of us to clean up... if you do, leave as much of the room hiss on the front as you can... 5sec should do nicely. Im sure one of us would be able to clean it if you cant.

That is only if all else fails, and is not a guarantee the final master will come out suitable for recording.

I would love everyone's work on this project included ultimately, but there is only so much we can do in terms of mastering.

ANiceSunset

Yeah i was wonder if it's possible...

I'll post up the track soon (when i have time to finish it) via attachment and is it possible if anybody can download it and clean it from there?
Or something like that?

I'll leave like 5-10 seconds before and after the track...

All of them seems rather nice, but the first one sounds the best as for me, but you need to work a little more on each of them , as there are some mistakes. Also, you should do something about your piano's tune, it sounds quite off-key, but that might be only a matter of recording.
As for recording I would reccomend you buying a microphone. Even a cheap dynamic microphone should get you a better sound quality, and lower noise level.
Speaking of programs, I think Audacity is fairly good for begginers and you would learn to use it in no time.
If you need any help feel free to ask, I got quite an experience with recording.
Good luck with that one   :)
