So I finally decided to pop my blu-ray in and check the extra features...  You know, the ones it didn't have.  Now they have a few online features with downloadable video, mostly previews of the big special edition release.

But one thing that caught my attention was a deleted scene at Jake's first meal in home tree...

Before I click it, is it something that I shouldn't spoil or is it something that I'd have already learned from the scriptment?

No, this is in the script.

I was always wondering why it wasn't included into the final cut. It seems pointless to me to include that meal scene with no dialogs.

*clicks* OOoh, fascinating... I'm going to refrain from speculation until I've heard it myself but it sounds quite interesting. I really need to hook up my BR player to download this then... though I suppose I could just wait, not like it's going to be much longer till I have the special edition.

Apparently you can see the scene online as well at http://www.avatarmovie.com/explore/ - once the videos come up click the X to close the video that opens automatically, then select the filmmaker process, and video 2. It's not as high quality as what you can get with the blu-ray but it is otherwise the same.

Ah, txantsan! I was looking for it online somewhere but couldn't find it so I gave up. Thanks for finding it (cause I'm lazy).

I agree with your analysis except I don't hear anything before "oeru", I just hear her opening her mouth and it making a slight popping, lip-smacking noise.
