I'll be honest, I have not been devoting myself too well to learning Na'vi lately, due to college and working out (to look like a Na'vi, might I add).  However, I found something interesting while surfing around at Avatar articles.

If it isn't already there scroll to the third page where it talks about the language.  Sure, we know the roots, but then he says that the sentence structure is German based.  I would check some sample sentences myself, but I have homework to do, and this is all the time I have right now to post anything.

Can anyone else confirm or deny this at all?

If so, this is going to help me out a lot, as it will others.

TBH I would take that with a nice healthy grain of salt.  It's second hand information and seems to be counter to what Frommer has said directly about Na'vi being free word order, though it does seem in line with the most common order.

It's also counter an example we have from Frommer when addressing Prrton, "Plltxe nga nìltsan!" - speek you well

I'd go with omängum!

Plus I have to add as a native speaker of German that it's not the case that the verb comes always last. There are constructions in sentences with auxiliary verbs and combined tenses where the main verb drops to the end of the sentence (sometimes with a lot of information and relative clauses in between :P) but the 'basic' word order is still SVO ;) Unless somebody changed it and didn't care to inform me :P

Hope that clears that :)

Ok, just needed confirmation on whether or not that was true for it.

Thanks!
