It's been past 2 months since the movie first came out. prob more than 3 since the language was first introduced. I have been studying the language since the day the movie came out (right after i watched it). Evidently, a lot more has been revealed since when I first started. There is still a great deal that we don't know. So i just htink maybe we could sum it up.
I think that so far, we are still lacking vocab. It seems tho, that our knowledge on grammar is full enough for us to use the language properly.
what you all think?

Sounds like a great idea, except it's already been done, see the wikibooks compilation.

o. i think there's a misunderstanding. by 'summing it up' i meant by what we still don't know. I realise that there is a thread in the beginner's but then it seems like that is kind of outdated.
so my question is: What are we still hoping to find out?

'eylan na'viyä

that still doesn't really answer my question.
o well, i guess my idea is not intereting enough. no worries

There are MANY things that we're still hoping to find out. Every time we get more vocabulary and examples from K. Pawl we understand more about his design for how all the pieces and parts of Na'vi fit together. For example, there are still basic grammatical constructs that are common in everyday speech that we don't know how to say CLEARLY in Na'vi:

The more I learn about Na'vi the more I understand what I still have to learn. "The more..., the more..." is a basic concept that's common in human language, but it's often structured very differently. In Japanese it's something like "if I learn...., to the extent that I learn...". In Thai it's "excessive/extreme...  excessive/extreme...". We don't know AT ALL what it is in Na'vi yet. Maybe it's something like « ...nì'ul, ha nì'ul... », but we have no idea, really. That's just one example. I'm sure you could come up with more too.  ;D

I agree that the spirit is important. So it's just part of me that wants to do things right, especially at things I am really interested passionate about.
