Kaltxi everyone, I am very pleased that this forum is receiving alot of interest and significant attention!

This post was made because I'm curious to know what age groups we are attracting. I do have an idea,  but I thought it would be neat to disclose such information since (as some other member has kindly indicated) we have broken the hundred members barrier not too long ago.

I believe knowing just what age groups we are attracting will definately indicate the popularity of Avatar, and the interest in Na'vi in general.

Irayo! :)

Ps: I want to take this oppurtunity to let people add me to msn ([email protected]) or skype (julian julian) because i'm interested in meeting our members and conversing in Na'vi. Irayo again. :)

Its also interesting to note that we have a 3:1 ration of male to female here...

Interesting, but that looks to be pretty standard so far with Avatar.

Seze

At least its better than most of my college CS classes.  Some classes it was about 80:1 male to female and 15:1 in the smaller classes...

So throw in a good looking vampire and the females will flock in ;)

Kidding. It's too early to judge, but I had a hunch that a majority of the members would be between 21-25. Just around that area, and I was anticipating some surprises from thirty and above.

You made me laugh really hard on that one, I was imagining what it would be like to have a vampire crash one of my CS classes...

Meh, I was going to say 'throw in a vampire in avatar' but I instantly regretted that idea.

lol, no one from fifteen and below yet.

Heck, what we have is better than the ratio that my college had.

Surprisingly, my college (Purdue University) had pretty much an even split male to female.  I blame/thank the liberal arts department...

unil.

XD You can add another lady to that ratio of yours, btw.

One more reason this site is much, much more awesomer than college. Obviously.

Feh, we've probably got a 3:1 female to male ratio over at my university. The girls at your school are lucky.

Mine is more like 5:1, at least in Linguistics. The guys are lucky. ˆ__ˆ

You know, I am very surprised at the fact that there are older people more interested in Na'vi. Honestly would not have expected that. But, I guess it makes since, we are probably all interested in the linguistics of it. I am hoping this language to be a stepping stone for me to explore some... too bad I can't get a foreign language credit for it :P

Yeah, actually this poll I made served a dual purpose for me personally.

One, it showed that the majority of people are roughly between 18-25, and secondly, that there are a few older members floating around here too. Success.

sefuheron

I did something like this when I was admining a fansite for Spore. I was surprised about there actually being a few members around 30... however most were 13-18... very sad being one of the older members there. Glad I'm not alone here :D

Oh, I hate that. I was the only girl in my Visual Basic class last semester. I wish that girls would learn that hard science is okay, and that not everyone has to be a psychology major (not that I'm bashing psych, but people should branch out, darn it). And more girls should like science fiction! *grumble*

Only a few people in my age group here...I'm fifteen. Wonder who the youngest person is--and the oldest, too.
