Well, all Pandora and Na'vi stuff, pretty much! =P Seeing a movie made by a guy who gets into the nitty-gritty of how things work on an alien world, without magic, makes me just that much more fascinated with it all, and hopeful that one day my own critters will make their way to the big screen ^ ^

It's really great that so many new members are registering! I find that you seem very cheerful, I'm sure you'll love it here! On the forums, we also all love Pandora and the movie and, more importantly, the beautiful language of the Na'vi.

I'm my own kind! A Wind "Elemental"/unicorn-esque hybrid, with two wings and two tails. "Khestali" is actually a hybrid of two of my original (and very underdeveloped) languages; together, they mean "wind flight" or "free wind". It's also the name I'd give my Ikran if I had one You can just call me Khes, if you'd like

And oooh! *Grabs notepad and pencil and scribbles down* Yush, corrections are lovely! You can never learn too much, especially when starting something new *Tries out* Irayo, ma oeyä 'eylan!

Anywho, any must-see/-do's I should know of, or is it just plunge in feet(tail?)-first and try to get a look around before you're swamped? =P

God I should really write down the two words for welcome. Anyway, it's good to have you on the forums! I hope you learn fast. I've been really preoccupied with an annoying thing called human life so I couldn't get back to the one that I find much better then my real life. So study hard. One thing I can offer as words of wisdom:

Write, practice speaking, write, practice speaking, later go to someone you now(or one of us on here that might know the proper speaking) and find out if you've been saying it right or not. It's fun to learn and I find it better than 'ìnglìsì. I haven't been writing the words with the special letters, just the basic ones. I should go abck over my vocabulary and do that >.> Well... Hayalovay ma Tsmuk. Ngahu Eywa.

I love it to death. And it gets just loud enough to blare out 3rd period so I can study my Na'vi <3 God... my 3rd period really needs to elarn to shush though... srsly... stupid freshman... hehehe I used the dictionary to find this which I find a funny name in Na'vi for an insult on Freshman: Pxasul. hehehe. I see it as meaning Fresh food. :3 As you can see I am barely holding on to what sanity I have left.

Oh, I see! That's very interesting. Wow, you have constructed two languages? It would be awesome if you presented them on the Linguistics boards sometime, I'm sure many people would be interested in learning about them!

Kea tìkin! By the way, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it'd be better to leave out "oeyä" - hopefully someone more experimented than me in Na'vi will be able to tell, cause I'm not sure. Also, just so you know, eylan is the plural form of singular 'eylan (don't forget the glottal stop (') at the beginning! :'D)

Concerning things to know, hm, I guess I can suggest the section for beginners (to ask questions and read what people wrote about different topics regarding Na'vi) as well as Na'vi in Nutshell (great doc for beginners). I would also advise you to learn both vocab and grammar at the same time if you can and, when you are ready, to practice: it is the key! This thread, for instance, is a great place to chat in Na'vi with other people of different levels.

Aye, I intend to do just that! Or as much as possible, at least. Hopefully I can even get some done this week - between finals' homework and choir events, though, it's packed! O.o

I was going to fix that earlier, actually, 'cause I remembered it had the apostrophe - I just didn't know it was plural! Irayo, ma 'eylan ^ ^

Perhaps one day I will, but at the moment it's little more than a few handfuls of random words and some tentative forays into singular/plural forms, different tenses and such. I haven't done much of anything with either of them for a while, been focusing more on the biomechanics, local flora/fauna, and properties of their planet(s) and/or spacecraft.

Yes, I'm a total Cameron-level nerd, beware!

I used to be a half-dragon hybrid, too.  Blue, and for some reason, from France, although it was actually Gaul at the time.  But I gave it up to become a half-human hybrid superheroine whom I called Talon, Lady Dragon.
