Hello! My name is Everclear. I LOVE Avatar and Na'vi culture, and have since the movie came out. However, a recent trip to Disney world has hardcore put the love of Na'vi language, culture and lore into me. I can't listen to the Na'vi river journey song without tears coming to my eyes. When I rode Flight of Passage I nearly wept. Maybe that's dramatic, but I hope I'm not the only one that feels such a strong emotional connection to the Na'vi!

I have used the pimsleur method to learn a language with great success, and a phone app with some success as well. I'm a bit shy so I prefer to use methods like that to avoid talking to other humans lol! but there isn't anything like that available for learning Na'vi, so here I am! I'm ready to work hard and study harder to get a grasp of the Na'vi language, hopefully before the new movie comes out so that I won't need subtitles!

I've never taught myself a language this way before. I guess my biggest question is where do I start? I've so far scanned the grammar page, and I'm assuming the answer to that is all the language basics pages.

I'm excited to be here! I'm hoping to make some friends to help me out with learning.

Kaltxì! Welcome to LearnNa'vi!

I like the Na'vi sentence-building adventures guide for grammar stuff in particular.

If you're hoping to make some friends to help you out with learning, I recommend also joining the LearnNavi Discord at https://discord.gg/LearnNavi
There is a lesson going on right now in there actually :)

What a special experience to have been to see the Avatar part of Disney world! You are definitely not the only one to feel really connected to Na'vi <3

I haven't been active here for a really long time, since at least 2014. I started learning in 2010 which was the year I graduated high school, haha! Na'vi is difficult at first but stick with it, it gets a lot easier and you'll be proud of yourself for pushing through, I know I am! I obviously have some brushing up to do on my Na'vi but I still remember a lot of the basics, so I can help you as much as I can! Feel free to ask me any questions :) I'm going to try and be active on the discord too even though I'm old and I have no idea how discord works........

Not sure if this is helpful but as a first step I learned about the sounds of the language here: https://learnnavi.org/navi-phonetics/ . Don't worry if the sounds don't come to you right away, it takes a while to get your head (and mouth haha) around the sounds. A fantastic next step is what Tirea said :D Sentence Building Adventures is an amazing resource!
