Stranger Come Knocking

Or you can just call me Tahnì.  Or Englishman, if you like.

Note 1: I have a tendency to ramble, so don't worry if you can't follow everything I say.  I try to keep it straight to the point but am not always successful.

So yeah, on my user I was aiming for "star in the night" (as it was the only thing I could think of at the time).  I think I did all right on grammar.  Just realized a n00b mistake this morning and am beating myself up for it, but oh well. >.<  I cannot really say I am new to Na'vi.  I have been lurking and taking notes and writing for several weeks. O.O Later on I may post parts of a story I am working on.  I catch on rather quickly.

I am currently learning two other languages, so I am not a stranger to learning a new language either, but I must see examples and brief yet thorough explanations, such as:

(Here I start to ramble a bit.)

Me: Oe nga kameie
Bad Expl: Sorry, but that is incorrect because of (Grammar rule #3.45.1 subsection 93).  To fix this, you have to (Grammar Rule #5.17.3 subsection 27 paragraph 5 line 2).
Good Expl: Your grammar is a little off.  "Oe" is the subject and because it takes an object and ends in a vowel, it needs to be "oel".  "Nga" is your object and ends in a vowel, so that needs to be "ngati"
Result: Oel ngati kameie.

I definitely think I've talked too much already.  I may be jumping back and forth between the English and Russian boards.  Kaltxì, ma frapo.

Russian dictionary is old. It don't have changes since summer because translator lost the interest. :( But Reference grammar of Na'vi is very helpful but it may be so hard to beginner. I advise study NiaN at first. Also here you can find link to Na'viteri.org - Paul Frommer's blog about Na'vi language. And:
Try to talk.
Don't worry make mistakes, we all make it starting learning.
Translate meanings no words. ;)

*cry* But what's left is still relatively useful, right?  Or should it be burned?

I can't wait to see your story. :D

It is a very bad, cheesy love story that will probably make your soul bleed.  But if you're just focused on the grammar, you'll have field day. :D

Translation still useful, but notes about transivity and infix position may be incorrect. Paul change it many times. But here there is the most completed and regularly updated Na'vi - Russian dictionary. :D Without infix positions, but you can find it in original version.

I have to focus on my own grammar before worrying about anyone else's.  And love stories almost have to be just a little cheesy, don't you think? ;D
