Kaltxì ftu Massachusetts!

I opened my eyes and discovered "LearnNavi" a few weeks ago when I too was recovering from a server crash and was enduring many hours to restore a failed raid array.  To my torment, and perhaps a sign from Eywa, I could only see cached web pages and had to endure a warrior's test of patience to become worthy in being permitted to download files to start my long and hopefully accomplished journey in learning Na'vi.  (Only to then face a second challenge of patience with this site's raid failure!)  I offer my sincerest respects to Toruk Makto.  I understand completely the monumental effort and frustration that came with getting this server back online.  And because of that, I can now begin my journey to become one of the people!  Irayo!

A few things about me just to introduce myself...

Languages are not my strength whatsoever.  In fact learning proper English was not in my nature.  But I survived my childhood.
And the first time I experienced Avatar, I knew in my heart that learning Na'vi was my new journey to begin.  I hope to use it as I can.

I have a diverse past that has used many similar skills in Avatar.  Which is completely opposite to my career of 4 walls and the humming of many server fans.  I've dedicated a number of years "hunting" for sky people lost in the forest.  I've trained and evented horses and have ridden some great distances here in the northeast, in Hawaii, and in Germany.  I've regularly demonstrated european living history for over 10 years at a recognized national medieval museum.  (For those wondering, this includes living in researched historical encampments true to the period.)  And I'm practiced with the authentic medieval longbow and make my own period arrows.  (Hint:  A proper set of Na'vi arrows is in my future...)  That said, I'd feel comfortable being on Pandora and call it home!  (Having an Avatar, not to mention an ikran, wouldn't hurt though...)

I gladly welcome any hello's and chances to learn from all of you.  And I would be honoured to share what knowledge I know and how I see it relating to the Na'vi culture!  So..., Kaltxî frapo-ya!  And I look forward to meeting you!

Welcome among us!

There are many people now managing to write, speak and practice Na'vi more or less fluently here, depending on the person.

You can pratice Na'vi and ask for help or questions in the beginners section. You can also practice with us with people online on Teamspeak and IRC channels.

You can find many learning resources (PDF books and software) and a mobile dictionary regularly updated as well.

There are also now memrise courses to help you learn Na'vi vocabulary and adpositions.

Feel free to ask any questions you want and share what you want.

Hayalovay! ;)
