Just to say that you'll read fewer posts from me in the future.

For these reasons:

- My level of interest towards Avatar
- The forum is a little bit a social hangout right now
- Status quo of the developpement of the language resources and culture

I prefer to follow you in the background instead of reading and posting everyday as I do now.

Neither my departure nor my stay will harm or help this forum, so at the end of the day, the heart wants what it wants.

Hm, define "help the forum".  It may not "help the forum", but it helps us. ;)
Well, the choice is yours...

Ma Vamataw,
Things change in this world, often in ways we don't anticipate. Although I think there is still much valuable work to do in developing the Na'vi language, it doesn't all have to happen at once. I have found that a lot of worthwhile projects, especially one as big as creating a useable, functional language, is an enormous, expansive effort. It takes a bunch of us to do this, and most importantly, it takes people using the language, and pushing its limits.
If you have noticed, I, too have backed off a bit. I had a sick cat to deal with since November (who died on Monday :( ), along with an ongoing, nasty regulatory battle. As important to me as Na'vi is, these real-life things take precedence. When these things tone down, I'll be more involved in the language. I have a deep commitment to the Na'vi language, and I never intend to give up using it or helping it develop.
You mention that this list has become a 'social club'. No matter what evolves and changes here, it will always be a social club, and indeed it has to be a social club to be what it is. If you notice, the vast majority of the fora here have little to do with language learning. Its been like this from day 1.
So in the end, you are free to do whatever you want. But don't forget this is a community. Even as interest in the language waxes and wanes, the community part (the social club) is a constant. You are always welcome here. Come and converse in Na'vi, in English, French or whatever. Tell us about your astronomy pursuits (and I am really impressed by how you have developed as an astronomer, and I hope you keep it up!) But above all, there is no need to simply turn your back in the community just because some of its pursuits have changed.

I understand you, ma Vawmataw.

It's your choice, but you will miss here ...

Rotobull cz

I understand you too, in a way...

Anyway, what my friends 'Eylan Ayfalulukanä and Toliman wrote...
+even if the forum was focused on a field of a wider reach (a science branch for example - e.g. astronomy), after some time, people would start to share things from their lives... It's natural... Life is the priority.
And if you come to like and agree with people on a forum, you'll want even more to share certain things with them, ask them about their thoughts, opinions...

It's cool ma Vawmataw. I've done exactly the same thing.  We'll still be here and happy to see you if you pop in again and make a post or two, or even come back more often again.  There is no activity minimum requirement to be a member. And taking a break is normal and totally acceptable.  See ya around ma tsmukan ;)

I don't know if I use weird reasons, but well...
Na'vi language still interests me. Changes will not make me leave. But the current state of this forum doesn't make me stay a lot.

Hopefully too many others don't follow this mentality lest this cause a negative feedback loop.. Which is one of my biggest fears. But don't let it stop you from doing whatever you want :) I know for sure you'll be back eventually ;D

It probably won't happen. Either way, I look forward to seeing you at the 2018 explosion, if I don't see you before then! :D

Since I have a job that keeps me very busy (been awake since 3:30am, and work started at 5:00am today O_o) I am more or less in a "lurker mode", but I still post here and there. :) Anyway, real-life has priority and this is something everyone understand. :)

For sure. I'm the same way. I work from more or less 05:00 ~ 17:00 daily (travel time included) and I'm off on weekends unless I'm on duty all day.  Not everyone can be online all day every day! :D

And I pretty much do the same as Tìtstewan.

They all above me has said what i think. :)

... and I understand your decisionn and i think, you've noticed that I've done something similar. The thing called school make me quite busy. On the other hand, we know that we should be good in Na'vi in summer 2018 so we have quite a lot time to do that.

It's here, we are here and we should be here together before the release of the first new Avatar. Perhaps, we will be lucky and get something from Karyu Pawl. :)
