Hello everyone, my name's Adam and im a 20 year old university student in Canada. Im quite new to Na'vi, i've been wanting to learn it for some time but could never get around to it, now im learning it for a linguistic anthropology class since we have a year end project where we create our own working language and i figured this would give me some perspective...and im a HUGE fan of the movie :D

I look forward to learning the language and getting to know you guys, i heard you were a very warm community :)

Welcome to you, Blackice!  ;)

You'll find out Na'vi isn't as difficult as it may seem. Feel free to ask and participate in the language's forums, where you can practice easily and ask for help if you need some. A voice conferencing server should be up hopefully soon to help and encourage practicing. I however do not know well enough how things work for Ngaynume and Neytiri Project.  :)

Kaltxì ma tsmuk ulte zola'eiu nìprrte'! :)

Welcome on the most friendly forum in the world.
Tip, hello was kaltxì. ;)
At first I advise you come to this stuff and read this language studying tips. If you want pick language easier, it's only one way - try to speak. And don't be afraid of errors and ask all that you don't understand. Everyone here will be glad to help you.
And listen this Karyu Pawl speech (with English translation), it helps you pronounce difficult Na'vi sounds. :)
and this one as well by him:

and also this one by him found on his blog, Na'viteri:

This is very interesting and encouraging! :D

I'd say not to worry too much with the pronounciation at first. By listening to Frommer, you should be able to figure out the basics. I think we then all have more or less our own accent. Yet I'm not an expert.

linganthprof

Nice to see you on here, Adam.   :)

It's been hard to dedicate time to learning the language for me as I am busy trying to get the study results out to everyone, but I do hope to pick up more as I go along too.
