Kaltxì, ma frapo!

I'd like to say to say hello hopefully not sound too awkward while doing so.

In all honesty, I watched AVATAR for the first time about 4 or 5 months ago when my cousin brought it over when the rest of the DnD group didn't show up. I had heard about it, but never got the chance to see it until then. When I saw it (having a basement theature helped this alot) I was stunned, amazed and utterly speachless. Not only is the movie one of the few that made me openly bawl in sheer saddness, one of two that makes me want to know the language. (the other being lord of the rings)

Now that the walk down memory lane, a little about be.

I'm currently 17 and living in Georgia, US. I'm in my last year of high school and an avid DnD player. I've also been lurking the site for a while, but still don't have a clue where to start in terms of speaking it other then a few phrases that I use to freak out some of my class mates.

That wraps up my intro and irayo to anyone who read this.  :)

Kaltxì ma 'eylan ulte zola'u nìprrte. This movie is a very unique one that changes a viewer in amazing ways. Ever since watching AVATAR, I've gone as eco-friendly as possible and my computer has an eco-mode that reduces the amount of energy being consumed. I'll always have that mode turned on. You'll find this site to be one of the most friendly on the internet, nobody here will attack you, we're just here to learn in peace.

Kaltxì! And welcome to LN! The movie was beautiful in so many ways, artistically and linguistically. Truly magical! I'm glad your here. ^^

Kaltxì ma 'eylan, zola'u nìprrte! :)

Feel free to participate where you want. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask. There are plenty of people participating in several forum sections, and many writings and documentation about Na'vi for beginners if you are tempted by this beautiful language. We also are planning a new Ngaynume session (see the threads in the forum section if you want) that can help you get started and practice with other members.

You seem to have been utterly bewildered by Avatar. Is there a concept or something in particular that especially affected you? Most of us also have felt our lives and way of thinking deeply impacted by the film.  ;)

Irayo nitxan!  ;D

It was the language and the love they had for eachother and their home. I come a family that moved around a lot so I never had a place to call home. I've where I am for six years, but I always expect to move again. so when I watched the movie, I felt like I had a home and crush when the RDA burned it to the ground.

I've also been a lover of languages, real and fictional. It reminded me that all communicate in our own way, as seeing people from two different cultures, time zones, and worlds away becoming friends that started with a common love for this language made me want to feel that warmth as well.

Kaltxì ma 'eylan!

You have definitely come to the right place for learning the Na'vi language. There are many tools and resources to use, and there are many awesome and helpful people here. Hope to see you around soon!

Hayalovay!
I am the sea on a moonless night
Calling, falling, slipping tides
I am the leaky dripping pipes
The endless aching drops of light

I am the raindrop falling down
Always longing for the deeper ground
I am the broken, breaking seas
Even my blood finds ways to bleed

Even the rivers ways to run
Even the rain to reach the sun
Even my thirsty streams
Even in my dreams

I AM RESTLESS!

Ma fpxafawite, kaltxì ulte zola'u nìprrte'. Oel ngati kameie.

I guess, you have come to the right place. As you have been lurking around this place for a while, you had a chance to see that this is one of the most friedly forums around.

Everyone of us has been confirmed, strengthened and changed by the meta-meanings of the film for a variety of reasons.

If you want to learn the language, this is the place to be! Post a lot and discuss with us!
Tse, etrìpa syayvi ulte Eywa ngahu.

Welcome to LearnNavi.  :)

Have fun. A few cool (and admittedly non-language related) things to check out would be the spam board and the 2012 AvatarMeet.

Kaltxì ma Fpxafawite!

I too have just joined, and am at the very same stage as you in my Na'vi learning career.
I never wanted to see Avatar in the first place, but after my friends dragged me with them to see it I was so glad they did. I agree with you, it is a stunning movie! I openly wept during the movie too!

I am also an Avid D&D player, and having someone to talk to on here with similar interests outside of Na'vi would be great!
feel free to message me or anything if you want to talk about Na'vi or D&D even.

Eywa Ngahu ma 'eylan!
