Oi forum!  :)

I'm new here, well obviously, and just wanted to say hello! Not sure what else to include here, so I'll answer any questions?  :-\

Also, GREAT emots!  :D

AketuanNavi

Welcome to LearnNavi  :)

I love the "smileys" as well...

Have fun. A few cool (and admittedly non-language related) things to check out would be the spam board and the 2012 AvatarMeet.

Niwantaw

Only mostly AWOL.

Risp

Thanks for the welcomes and hello, AketuanNavi  and Niwantaw! I'll be sure to check those places out (forum is quite large!). :)

Welcome on the most friendly forum in the world.
At first I advise you come to this stuff and read this language studying tips. If you want pick language easier, it's only one way - try to speak. And don't be afraid of errors and ask all that you don't understand. Everyone here will be glad to help you.

Eywa ngahu. :D

Hai.  Kamean said it all. :D

Thanks for the welcomes!

Thank you very much for the links! I shall look at them now! First I need to learn how to pronounce all the phones and learn the allophony, since it will probably be easier for me that way.  ;D

Tirea Aean

Kaltxì and welcome :D :D

wm.annis

On the side, you identify as coming from the U.S.  In what part of the U.S. are we now greeting people with "oi!"?  From the subject line, I thought you'd be Australian or a Brit. :)

In any case, welcome to the forum!

Risp

Thanks for the welcomes!  :D

@wm.annis

I like to add variety to my hellos, is all.  ;D

Tsmuktengan

Kaltxì ma tsmuktu! Zola'u nìprrte'! :)

What has brought you here? Avatar? The Na'vi language?

Feel free to ask any questions you want.

Gabriel Rocha

Welcome Risp! Wish you have a great time here  :P

Risp, you said "oi"... should I believe you know something about Portuguese? hahaha ;D ;D

@Tsmuktengan:
Thanks!

A lot of things actually.  :-[ My mother REALLY loves Avatar, she's a BIG fan. I'm extremely interested in languages and conlangs. When I heard Frommer had a book about linguistics (something I want to major in), I decided I might as well join and try to learn the language as well (I have a huge list, so I spare them out as evenly as I can). Na'vi, Quenya are just some conlangs that I'm interested in.

@Gabriel Rocha:
Why thank you Gabriel!  ;D

Sadly, I do not know much about Portuguese. I only know some Lakhota, a bit of Arabic, Afrikaans, Gaelic and Russian. Trying to learn them. xD

I got the impression from the get-go that you might know a little more about language than a lot of newbies here. I therefore think you will find learning Na'vi to be fairly straightforward, and its a heck of a lot of fun! Since you know some Arabic and some Afrikaans, you might also check out the new Dothraki language, created for the HBO 'Game of Thrones' series. (I am Hrakkar in that 'world') http://www.dothraki.org

You might also be interested in the Na'viteri blog where Karyu Pawl posts updated about the language, new words and validations, as the language continually evoles and enriches itself.
