I wonder if this has to do with it possibly considering and allowing for user error?

This is actually a very good point. Dict-na'vi can also find soaiayä for example, even though that is technically not correct. I like that, because it helps people finding what they are looking for, even if the input is slightly incorrect.

If I search for <noun>to (in comparinson to <noun>) it is only detected as <noun> + -t + -o
Is there a way to show both, so the version with -t + -o and that it also show -to?

Thank you ma smuk for letting me know. I was aware of this and had it on my agenda to bring it up together with to Tukan on our last call but must have forgotten or overlooked. I will add that to the list but don’t know when it will be implemented.

Soaia is an interesting point. Since we don’t do case endings in nouns the way we do infixes with verbs it never came up but I wanted it to be found so I added the genitive form to the translation. The search engine will parse the -yä/-ä ending normally for all nouns. The purpose of a dictionary is not to teach grammar (and its irregularities) but to acknowledge the form.

And as Wllìm rightly said, it was built so that potentially erroneous understood or written words could still hit a close match to existing words. It’s a very good feature tì’efumì oeyä.

I try to remove the / from kä'ärìp in the description of kärìp but when I save the entry, it gives me a blank page.
It happens with similar entries, too.

I am aware of the issue … happened when I tried to create the entry as well … Will inform Tukan about it.
Thank you for reminding me!

I just found out that loho should mean "be surprising" and not "be surprised".

’ä’ – ngaru tìyawr nìlun!
Fixed. Thanks for catching that.

Probably confused me because every translation of the examples has it as ‘be surprised’
