I just though on something. I happen to have access to a legit copy of Acrobat Pro. I could then take your activity book and add forms data to it. That way, we could write directly in the pdf and have an imbedded corrector.

It's just an idea but I think I can did it if you want.

Update: I went though the first 10 pages and flipped through the last ones. I've found two errors in the mystery words and a little thing that you forgot near the end.

exercise from page 18 already has the answers in the blanks. But it's invisible if you look straight to the computer screen.

Thank you both. I fixed that spelling error, and as for the "Things you can do with a friend, that is one of the few sheets I was able to save from the original project (back when I actually had access to clip art and a professional layout program). I can't edit that page, so call it a freebie.

:)

When I upload the official version (about 60 pages) it will probably have some errors. I will say thank you now for helping me find them.

Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)

If you still need people to help you find eventual errors, then sign me up for it. I love these puzzles, and won't mind helping you :D
Especially not if there are cookies for finding them ;)
Who I am?

I'm someone who was discarded, someone who has risen with a vengeance, I'm an avenger and a destroyer, I'm a protector I am a murderer, I'm a provider and a thief. I'm the hunter and the hunted, heartless and a conscience. Forgotten and a reminder. I live but I don't exist, I'm a brother, I'm an orphan. I'm famous but invisible, I'm good and I'm evil. I'm the same as I was, I'm completely different. I'm dead, I'm alive. I'm here and I'm not.

A little solution would be to simply draw white rectangles over the answers ;)

That is a good idea. And I will consider it this week. Please forgive me if I end up keeping it as is, but I will definitely think on this. It was made for the very beginner (at least the first few pages, of which this is one of the few surviving ones). I think I should move that page up to the front. Back when I was young and naive (er, early last month), and I had really fun software that made this easy to do, my idea was to make 100 pages fun, with 25 or so pages of barely shaded in exercises like this one, so that no one could possibly get frustrated and quit before they actually learned (and wrote a hundred or so Na'vi words.

I think I am passing the torch though, as there are more and more people writing their own "Learn Na'vi" software, dictionaries, or guides every week. I would love to do a 5-volume set, and really go back and take people from day one, minute one, and hold their hands all the way to being able to write complete letters to friends, song parodies, romance novels, and jokes about your boss, in Na'vi. But I have this new project I have been putting together, and I want to focus all of my time on it, starting this week.

So flaws will be in the book--mostly layout. It looks nothing like what I want it to, but it is 60 or so pages of good solid (basic) Na'vi instruction, and if I ever get an offer from FOX publishing (or if I can afford to take a month off without pay), I will come back and redo this thing the way it should have been. Until then, I hope others will try their hand at helping people. It's a LOT of work putting these things together, and it eats away at everything. Maybe in a few months.

Bumping this thread: The activity book is done. It has some mistakes--I am sure of it--but at 100 pages, including Skxawng's grammar sheets (you should personally thank him--I want to make sure everyone knows he is responsible for those) this is the most thorough and extensive Na'vi learning document to date.

IF YOU HAVE ways to help people learn Na'vi and you want it included in this activity book, please lemmeno. I didn't spend a month and a half on this to feed my ego. I did it to help people learn Na'vi. If you have something that can help people learn Na'vi and you want to include it or have it mentioned in this book, please, please PM me!

Yeah, that was something I forgot to include in the document. Here is the link to Staples (if you have a Staples near you):

http://www.staplescopycenter.com/ASP1/storefront.aspx

You can simply upload the PDF, but it will assume that you want to copy in color and it will say something ridiculous like $300. DON'T PANIC. Just go back and make sure you click "Black and white" copies, and it should run you around $8 + binding. You can also put it on disk and take it into any store that does copying. You might be able to find a place locally (an independent one) that woll do 3, 4, or 5 cent copies (save a few bucks). If you print it "double sided," you want to have the cover page be #1, the title page #2 (no blank pages...just print "as is").

Binding: Figure about $3-4 for spiral binding. Stapling (100 sheets--or 50 sheets if you double side) is either free, or 20 cents. If you really want to get crazy, you can have it "printed double-sides on 11x17 and saddle stitched." That means you will have 25 (11"x17") sheets of paper printed on both sides (that is 4 "regular pages" to a sheet). It will end up looking like a magazine, folded in the middle with staples at the fold (just like any magazine).

This though would probably run you about $12 (at Staples). IF YOU ALREADY HAVE Eight's rhyming dictionary, you can ask them to skip those pages, but Skawng's grammar sheets and a secret puzzle at the very end is also at the back of the book.

I mention Staples because I do a LOT of copying with them. Kinko's Office Depot, or ant local printer (in the phone book, online, maybe craigslist, or google local, yahoo local) can get you cheap printing. Just make sure they can handle "digital files" and whether you can email it to them, or hand it to them, and how much they will charge if you want it double sized, or like a magazine, or whatever.

Hope this helps. If not, let's try it again.

I'm afraid I can't give critique on the Na'vi portion of this (Why else would I be downloading this wonderful pdf?), but I noticed your special note at the beginning has a couple grammatical and spelling errors. Not really imperative to change, but I figured I'd point it out.

Irayo, ma tsmukan. Irayo.

All comments and corrections are welcome. I will make a list of things to correct and handle them all on one day (maybe once a week if there are too many). A lot of this was one late at night, as I could not force myself to quit and go to bed like a sensible person. I was supposed to get a print-out today, but I failed. I will get my print-out probably Saturday. So anyone who helps me find corrections is good in my book!

However, here are some corrections for pages 83/4:
Starts with a "d"?
"Watn" typo.
Genitive spelt as "genitave" in several places
In the final sentence, "sa'nok" has been translated as "father" instead of "mother"

See how easy it is to get free karma out of me? I am like some magical karma fairy (But stay away from my Fosted Lucky Charms!)
I will check those now, and if you are right, I will fix them immediately.

EDIT: Holy Palooka! Those are Skxawng's grammar sheets! I am not touching those with a stick! I don't mess around with other people's creations, especially when they is smarter than I! So, make notes (I found a typo as well, just in passing--but you know how it is, "typos happen.") and maybe send him a (polite) note someday. In the meantime, I truly apologize, but I am'a'not'a'gonna mess around with someone else's stuff. It's a respect thing.

P.S. You are on page 83? You are fast! I haven't even picked up my printed version from Staples yet :(

I think that with or without typos (which most of us are smart enough to figure out they are just that) this is simply amazing, and I know that I speak for everybody when I say Irayo! You've taken time to put something together that will definitely help lots of us. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
