So, that would be...

A Directory to the different sites of LN and other user inspired/created sited...

A directory to projects and docs that could prove useful...

'eylan na'viyä

I also suggest
-messages from pawl
-stories and songs from users
-other interesting, entertaining or good language examples in Na'vi

It will have links to those things.  But we need to be clear here.  This is not on the language.  It's on the web site, how to use it and where to find the resources you need to work with the language.
I've already got links to:
Karyu Pawl's website
Taronyu's dictionary
Na'vi in a Nutshell
The Wiki
and Project NgayNume.

If anyone has any other links please let me know so I can include them.  Also include a description of the site, if possible.  Someone had a link in one of the topics I was watching to the musical stuff.  I'll try to find that.  But if someone knows what it is, shoot it to me please.  That was a good site.

how about some Na'vi nì'aw blogs? altho the updating on them has been slow lately...(bear in mind that these are not perfect, and neither is any Na'vi nì'aw board on the forum. mistakes are made, theres my lil disclaimer)

http://masempul.org/blog
http://letrranavi.wordpress.com/

and because it is epic:

audio example thread:

http://forum.learnnavi.org/audio/peer-reviewed-pronounced-word-list/

(wow i am so biased for those only interested in learning the language hrh)

some boards that answer VERY FREQUENTLY ASKED questions:

http://forum.learnnavi.org/vocab-phrases/
http://forum.learnnavi.org/syntax-grammar/
http://forum.learnnavi.org/pronunciation-phonetics/
http://forum.learnnavi.org/prefixes-infixes-and-suffixes/

and of course the ultimate bias:

Well, I'll try to look at the site tonight, if I have time after doing my Group Project for school.

And what about...

How's a brief description of all sites (the wiki, the home site)
and a small description of each major board and wht you an expect there.

Also, a description of some important figures from the Satff Page...
An explaination of each "tab" at the top section of the forum...

If you have the problem of listing too many language based ideas and need inspiration, think of this...
Our target audiance is a person who has little/no forum experience and is confused a bit by the SMF help page.

Oh yeah, the descriptions of the sites are there.
Good idea about the tabs at the top of the screen, and the Staff page.
It's probably going to take longer than I thought.  I'm getting stuff trickling in, and finding stuff myself, but I'd like to wait til the menu at the top is fixed, with all the tabs that are supposed to be there.
I'm in almost constant contact with Markì on it, so I'll know when it's fixed and it will get in there.
This is more work than I thought.  And I still need ideas from others.  I don't want to be the only writer of this thing.  I don't know enough yet.

I've got an Acknowledgments page already started with the names of people who have given me stuff.

Uber - I must say you have shown an amazing grasp of what needs to be in this Handbook.  All of your ideas are absolutely wonderful.  Keep them coming!!!

Aye aye, capitain. Just stayin' on topic.

I was on my first forum not too long ago, so being there, there were a lot of things that I didn't know. Reason being, the first forum I had been on was built from scratch, the ground up. There was really nothing there to help. Now I know, but I know how it feels the be the "lost puppy".

I'm sure once a master list of ideas and sugggestions is made, it will be much easier to organize thoughts, and people can split off tasks.

Maria TunVrrtep

I also think we should have info on the IRC server.  I can deal with that, because I know IRC like the back of my hand.  I'll get some info on basic mIRC scripts to put in there also.  I think that will be helpful to anyone who hasn't ever used IRC and wants to try it.

I really LOVE this idea!!!

Thanks Uber!!!!

Im definately an XChat guy...VERY EASY to use and customize so that it auto joins, logs in to userserv, and joins into all your fave chans. mIRC has been bad to me until i found XChat.

A little mention of teamspeak 3 wont kill, would it? Our poor TS server....back in winter, its population was so healthy! always people in it, always conversation going on, and whenever i was there and people felt like learning, we did some Na'vi lernen. people need to know its a free voice chat client from teamspeak.com(made for gamers) and we dont do the webacm thing. ;p

TA - can you type up a little description about the ease of using XChat?  I can deal with the mIRC stuff but I don't really know anything about XChat.

Yes we need to put in something about the Teamspeak server and all that stuff too.  I don't know much about it.  Someone else will have to get that stuff to me.

another suggestion:
a software overview maybe organized in a table:
-what platform or device is the software running on?
-what type of learning or other software is it?
-is the vocabulary(if it is about vocab) up to date?

Which software are you talking about?  The XChat and mIRC software?
I can put that in, but it doesn't really have anything to do specifically with learning the language.  Those software packages allow you to access the IRC chat server.  They aren't learning software.  Just like the Teamspeak software.

Speaking of which - TA can you think of someone I can ask to write up a little thing about the Teamspeak software?  I know you're really busy with your project.

Maria TunVrrtep

Several things.

1.  I have decided on a working title of "Handbook for Users, by Users".  If anyone has a better idea for a title, let me know.

2.  I need someone to put together some stuff on any of the Mac stuff.  I know ABSOLUTELY nothing about Macs.  So if there is anyone who can put together a list of codes for the special characters for Mac, a list of the IRC clients for Mac, etc. (basically anything that would be different for a Mac user than for a PC user) I need that person to contact me so I can ask them to put together the info I need.

3.  I am going to be away this weekend.  I'm not going to have access to a computer from Friday afternoon until Sunday evening.  (TA - I'll be here for the 11am my time NN class then I'm off.)  Do not expect any responses from me until Sunday evening, if then.  I'm still going to have homework to get done.

4.  So far I've got these topics (they are not finished, I just have them as topics so I know what I'm trying to still get done)
     A.  Useful Links and Forums
     B.  Menu items
     C.  IRC information
     D.  Teamspeak information
     E.  BB codes and Message writing tips.
     F.  Tips for New Users
     G.  Navigating the forum
     H.  People of interest
     I.  Good posting and thread making tips
     J.  General advice
     K.  Do's and Don'ts

Anything else that I missed?

VERY. --I can make a ppt google docs walkthrough(easier than explaining via text) JUST LIKE i did with Teamspeak 3. I already did this. you can actually find it on my project board in the thread for Teamspeak.
