another suggestion:
a software overview maybe organized in a table:
-what platform or device is the software running on?
-what type of learning or other software is it?
-is the vocabulary(if it is about vocab) up to date?

Which software are you talking about?  The XChat and mIRC software?
I can put that in, but it doesn't really have anything to do specifically with learning the language.  Those software packages allow you to access the IRC chat server.  They aren't learning software.  Just like the Teamspeak software.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding
I meant learn Na'vi related software in general. Applications that are made for Learn Na'vi, applications that are modified or applications that are required for some services like IRC or TS clients. I think for the last ones it would be done providing a link to a help file, thread or something like this.

Ahh, so "software" of LN, if that's what you want to call it.

It might be better to list them as the program and what is required to use them, as well as what it is, what it can be used for, and a link to a help page or the actual program... And anything else.

TV, don't worry about the gap, we're still brainstorming.

;D  I know.  I'm just really getting into this.  It's going to be wonderful.

And I feel like I'm actually contributing something.

Ok so we've got a "Software used for the LN applications" section.  Cool.  I'll put it in the ToC.

I added this project to the Current Projects thread.  Let me know if I left any contributors out.

Oh, good. Cool.

Remember to "vote" in the "poll" in this thread.

Since TunVrrtep has the physical format pretty much under control, we should get to work on the informational format, the category list, and finally, getting the tips and info pouring in...

So...

  • How will the info be organized? Table of contents? Headings? Sections?
  • Any more categories?

After the informational format is taken care of, the seperate categories and the needed additional formatting will e put into place.

Then, the gaps can be filled after the info is compiled and voilà! Done.

Of course, it's not that easy, and I'm sure speed bumps will arise, but let's get a start. Everyone should try to answer the questions listed above, and we can get to work.

I've already got a Table of Contents.  I'm trying to see if I can make the actual ToC clickable so it will take you straight to that page.  I'm not sure if I can do it yet.  I'm looking into it.
I haven't actually done anything with it yet today.  I am currently trying not to be in pain.  My tooth implant today was worse than the last one and I'm in more pain.  I think it's because the bone was really degraded around the tooth when it was pulled and as a result, when the bone was finally ready for the implant, the bone was a little thin where the implant needed to go.  This one was really painful.
I'll be away this weekend, so I won't get any messages til I get back Sunday night.

Ouch. Get better soon.

I think that this project will go well, but it seems like less than 10 different people have posted. We need a rally.  :D

Seriously, though, a larger audiance would help.

Maria TunVrrtep

Well I think we can help with that by talking about it in other boards on the forum.  I also plan to talk about it on IRC.
Maybe talking about it in Teamspeak also?

Communication.

I asked, and a thread was put up for suggestions for the news ticker. I'll post there and see what happens.

LOL I was wondering why Markì put that up so quickly.  I was going to ask him about it.

Hehehehehehehe.

If it does get put up, it will help the project.

Too many ideas is a way better problem than not enough ideas, hmm?

Oh, also, a brief "survival guide" ruleset could prove helpful. As well as a mini re-explaination of the color system, post, karma, and ranking system(s).

überdoodlet

A link to this project has been placed in my signature. If any collaborators want to do the same or similar, it would help spread the word... We need the ideas and opnions of the whole community.

Maria TunVrrtep

It's also in the newsticker now too.

Good. Maybe after a while, it'll get more publicity that the project needs badly.

so basically you want a little "LN forum fpi ayskxawng" document so noobz and such can more easily and quickly get into it...I like the idea.

ideas for a cover are already flashing in my head.  ::)

hrh, I really like this idea as well!

All of those are very good points. Both formats are do-able, and you have put some life back into the wiki idea.

I think that the content is what we need to focus on for now, as format has no meaning if there's no content. We have some ideas previously listed, but more are always good.

Ilisaqpuq, do you have any idea how to make this "team" vision a reality, and/or any other comments on the handbook? We do need some organization: one part ideas, one part format.
