According to the survey, a majority of people uses language references for their learning. A majority is satisfied, but we can still help the rest of the people. Of course, we can't please everyone, but still.

If you would like to suggest stuff to add, to simplify, etc. please post. This is a suggestion thread about the existing and the non-existing learning resources. The goal of this thread is simply to provide to the greatest amount of people possible an acceptable to great learning experience.

Only 14 Pages! :D It will be less than 20 when it's done. (compare to all other grammar docs)

Do you mean I'm creating this thread for nothing?

I thought this thread was for gathering ideas and suggestions. Quickstart Guide would be one suggestion/idea. (Have I misunderstood the purpose of this thread?)

No, you didn't misunderstood the purpose of this thread.
Well, I think this thread will have a certain utility.

another suggestion could be a 'step-guide' step by step advice on how to learn the grammar or whichever.

I can say that the Quickstart Guide does not have nits and exceptions; it's a quickstart, so it's basically the TL;DR and contains only the biggest essential grammar points.

Horen will fill in the gaps because it's so thorough, but the writing styles of the documents are so different. Quickstart is very casually written, with the everyday person in mind.

If only there were a sure-to-work formula for learning this language that would work for every single person. I could then write a thread or a document for that. But alas... People are different :)

Like I said in the post "advice for beginners" I'm actually making a chart about the different kinds of leaners, the different kinds of learning, and the correct materials to go with each. to decreased confusion and difficulty.

I'm not sure I understand the intention of this thread ma Vawmataw. Are you asking if extra/different reference materials need to be made (besides what already exists)?

I think we have so many materials for one thing or another. but for smaller, still signicant, but not as important areas, don't have much of anything. I don't know if I'm right, but I believe that's what Vawmataw is talking about, I think.

You're right ma Tstewa. However, this is not the only target of this thread.

If I understood this thread correctly, one should suggest still "missing" learning materials, kefyak?

A Na'vi word frequency dictionary will be available very very soon.
The work on a Na'vi workbook will be continued soon after I finished that monster project called Na'vi Frequency Dictionary...
The same also for a successor of the Na'vi of the Nutshell.
The LN wiki will see some updates.

^these stuff will come, but it requires time.

You don't understand the whole purpose of this thread. What you mention is only a part of it.
If you would like to suggest stuff to add, to simplify, etc. please post. This is a suggestion thread about the existing and the non-existing learning resources.

I hope I am clear now. Otherwise, please PM me.

From now on, I would like to hear your suggestions only.

Stranger Come Knocking

What about something to show people what kinds of conversations they /can/ have in Na'vi?  Since the cultures are somewhat removed, new learners might be put off thinking that they can only talk about Eywa and the Tree of Souls and so on and so forth, when we actually have enough words to discuss other topics (think beading/crafting, music, etc.)  Maybe not politics and finances, but there is more.

For those who want to study the grammar, something that explains/suggests what bits of grammar to study when and in what order would be useful.

I have a project idea along these lines, but I don't want to talk about it until it's more or less finished (assuming it ever reaches that point).

Need help making it?
Are you referring to me? There's lots of people/projects in this thread. :P

Mine will take a good deal of programming, so most of the work will fall on me, but ultimately the results will end up on Memrise (and possibly Anki). Since it would be a learning resource I would definitely need feedback, both from those who know the language better than I do, and also learners who use it to learn Na'vi. It's hard to say exactly what kinds of help I'd need though, since it's still mostly in the brainstorming stage. (I need to learn a few more programming tricks before I can start working on it.)

Again I don't want to say too much, but if it's successful it would teach people almost the entire language, words and grammar.
