Tse, I've updated the PFD files - lastest comments and blog post. :)

I have not updated the doc files, because the almost over 10 years old file format has problems when I save it from .docx to .doc.
Should I upload the .docx version instead the .doc?

Ma smuk,

I am thinking about to re-create this file in a completely other filetype. My idea is to re-write the whole file in HTML. This would have the advantage that I have to update only one file, I can use HTML well plus more nice stuff:
positive aspects:
  • one file to update
  • works on all devices that has an HTML reader or internet browser
  • Pawl's audio material could be included
  • it is completely editable with simple editors (obviously, one should know a bit HTML, which depends what one want to edit)
  • the file one download == also the source file
  • blog comments would be present in a spioler-like box

One negative point is that one have to download and use the file and the related folder that contains the graphic and audio materials.

If that one negative point isn't a big problem, I would like to start writing it.

Of course, suggestions are very welcome. :)

That's not bad idea. As for extra folder - IMHO most posts use just one image (those floating mountains in the heading), it is not big trouble. I don't know how big are audio samples, but even if they remain linked to the original location on the web, it is good idea to try html version.
(I just wondering where you get so much energy and free time to do all these actions. let me know, I need to buy some ;D ;D)

That folder will contain the audio and images only. I don't know how big that folder will be. There are some blogs that indeed use images that are rather important that can't be missed, like that one with the explanations about colors.
That folder thing was my biggerst concern that keeps me to write an HTML offline file. But Tìtstewan can't have always much time and I am now tying hard to re-create my stuff to have one file to update that should work on almost all devices.
I did that also for the LEP-word list file. :)

I love this place and the people here way too much. So, I put my effort in such projects. :D

Tse, here is the first view of the new HTML file version.

I try also to add a header that contains the table of content for a better na(')vigation. :)

OH WOW.

By looking at that screenshot, I realize that Page search of a huge HTML file would be SO EFFICIENT to find any word in the entire blog. :O Must have this.

Tìtstewan

You will need patience, unfortunately. I finally completed the basic structure. I have only to add the blog contents and the comments.

Kop, I added the table of content in the header as a collabsible field:

Ma smuk,

So, yeah, here is a short part of the file for testing.
I am trying hard to make that file work on many devices (PC, tablet, phones etc.), so I need some volunteers who could play with the file, if it work on another browsers, or on tablets (I don't have one yet) and mobile phones.

Especially I want to know how the interaction of the main file works with its source folder that contains the images and audio materials. Also I am interested to know, how the header menu works for you. :)
Eventually, I need to fix and make some codes better.

Important, this beta file has only a few blog enties (26) with some images and audio examples from Na'viteri, in other words, it is way not complete.

As always, suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for help! :)

Wow, that's good work. I'll try to play with that, but I can report something just now:
- I don't like that upper part with Content / Help. It shouldn't be half transparent, as when you scroll the main text, the upper part floats over it and causes worse readability in that area. It could be frame or something what can't float ovet the text.
- the same I'd say for content and help. I have 1366*768 display and content is much longer, but I have no idea how to scroll over it. Moving mouse wheel scrolls main text, not content menu. Not saying that half transparency makes content and help readability very bad.
- when something from Content is selected, menu should disappear.

Hope this feedback is not too bad for you :) I'll try more later.
Anyway, it looks much better than current PDF file. Good luck in rewriting!

It's, of course, not bad. I will try to change it. :)
- transparency of the header has been removed.
- height of the header bar has been changed from 40px to 33px

I just try to fix that content and help box size problem.

EDIT: Is this solution better: (see attachment) ? :-\
