Hello all, I am testing out my new Flip mino HD (and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1).

So what better idea than to make some Videos for youtube to help yall learn Na'vi?

EDIT 11 July 2015: Google account associated with the old YouTube account has been deleted and a new YouTube and Google+ have been created. ALL videos have been deleted.

EDIT EDIT 13 July 2015: Please leave any further comments in the new thread here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/learning-resources/tayoutube

Voice teaching is always better than just looking to words by students themselves.

My computer has a hard time buffering this morning, so for now I could only watch the explanation of the first sentence - and so far I really liked it! I could already understand every word separately, but I was confused about the word order and the general meaning, and you really helped clarifying that. :)

I like this kind of teaching a lot! You've had a really good idea. :D I'm surely going to watch the whole thing when my computer is a bit more willing, and I'm also looking forward to the next lessons!

Very nice! I'd love to see this with a whiteboard or something. Gah! I wish I had more time or I'd make something like that.

the ones at my school are huge, tall as a Na'vi ;D if it was at all possible I'd steal one for this purpose ;D

I used to have one but it died from extensive use. I should get another and just make a quick video just talking about whatever Na'vi comes to my head. Hmmmm, I'm actually really tempted to do that, it wouldn't be perfect but it would be fun and easy and probably very useful to people.

Alright, I'll do it tonight. I'll also see if I can (finally) upload some of the video I took from the workshop. They've been sitting around for far too long. Don't let me forget.

I really like the spoken aspect, even more so because it's unscripted.  I think that helps bring out even small thoughts one might deem not worth mentioning, but that are useful to beginning learners.

I worked as a writing coach last year, so when a student had trouble getting ideas for an essay or figuring out how to word them, I would often just have them talk to me about the topic.  It's almost magical how fluidly and clearly ideas come out (even if not in the fanciest language) when we're not faced with trying to put them down on paper.

Also, your voice is quite comforting. ;)  The only confusing thing about your handwriting is that the u's sometimes look like v's, but that's coming from someone whose v's look like u's (and whose y's, g's, and ing's all look like undotted j's). ::)

Did I make an error you just can't stand to let survive?  Please, correct me!  I'll give you candy or something.

Tstunwi :D

and yes my handwriting is BAAD. maybe next time (like i said in the video) I will write it out neatly before I shoot the video. ;D

Makto ko!

Ma Tirea Aean sì ma smuktu,

I really enjoyed the video, and despite not knowing of the content from masempul.org, it helped me anyway understand some of the core language that can be used. Having liked the video, I would like to suggest that you, or someone else willing, may make some of these style videos about very simple and core language that has to be learned above all others.

Also from some of your replies I believe you have made some sort of video series that explains all of the NiaN chapters? If I am correct in this then I would be very grateful to receive a link of some sorts to said videos as I believe it would help me immensely to have it explained while I continue to wiggle through it!

;D I beleive these would be good ideas, but please change or comment on them as you will!

Although this is pretty basic stuff, I found this useful, instructive and enjoyable. Your handwriting isn't all that bad (wait until you see mine!), and writing out the words seems to add to the video somehow. Will be looking forward to future installments!
