Hello everyone,

This picture is already on the gallery since a few days, but I want a thread about it.
This picture's target is to facilitate the proofreading of the sentences you make (and maybe even your learning). I also hope that it will help reduce the most common mistakes the beginners make.

I can edit it if there are mistakes or points to clarify.

References like this are very useful to have. (Reminds me of the checklists my teacher gave us in my writing class, hrh.) Thank you for making this. :)

If only it were this simple ;)

I think you have include most major grammar mistakes here. Not bad :)

I come across new learners who don't even use the correct part of speech to begin with. -- A result of searching the English dictionary and just choosing the first Na'vi word that seems to match their query, ignoring the POS.

Quotea good way to correct is to translate word by word the meaning
Interesting. A lot of errors seem to occur because peolpe do exactly this. They take the meaning they want to say, and then translate it word by word, giving an ... interesting Na'vi result.

:)
EDIT: That's probably what you meant by that.

This inspires me to also think about a systematic way to analyze and verify grammar.

I was not clear in my explanations, sorry.
This is what I meant: A good way to correct is to translate what you wrote (from Na'vi to English) word by word, including the meaning.

Ex.: Oe lu tswayon. Intended meaning: I'm flying. I translate and this is what I get: ''I am to fly''.
So, I have to correct my sentence. I search for the way to conjugate verbs. Oh, I have to put <er> into my verb. Result: Oe tswerayon.

I will edit that. ;)
Edit: Done

Thanks! :)

I tried to convert my PSD (I work with Photoshop) file to a PDF file. It works, but the results are disappointing. The text of the ''checklist'' appears blurry (it's still readable though), but the rest is OK. It's not beautiful, so I prefer to put that aside. :-/ Unless you have problems with .jpg files, it should be OK.

What you could do is type that into Google Drive or Libre Office or Microsoft Word and then either export as PDF, or take a screenshot and save as image.
