Hey everyone, I started thinking of creating a language based on just one sentence written in 1100.
It is the very beginning of Dutch, which is my native language.

The Sentence:
Hebban olla vogala nestas hagunnan higase hic anda thu, wat unbidan we nu?
Dutch translation:
Hebben alle vogels nesten begonnen behalve ik en jij, waarop wachten we nu?
English:
All the birds have begun nests except me and you, what are we waiting for?

So, the basic idea is that verbs let fall some letters to turn them into singular state (we hebban - we have, hic heb - I have). And to give them a tense, they use changes in the verb (hic hagin - I begin, hic hagun - I began).

For the nouns it's this way: the plural forms of nouns are formed with a suffix related to the grammatical gender of the noun. Masculine/feminine nouns get an -a (vogal - bird, vogala - birds) and neuter nouns get -as (nest - nest, nestas - nests).

Thats all I got from the sentence only, now I just need to create own rules and new words.

Is that the only sentence in Dutch from that time period?  (If it is, then I guess you are free to make the rules that aren't expressed in the sentence.)  Or will you try to make your rules follow those of other Dutch material from that time (if any)?

Also, for your own words, are you going to try and see what the old versions of current Dutch words might have been, or are you going to make up your own from scratch?

Well, I'd like to see what that turns out to be!
And if you need any help just ask me, I'm dutch as well so that'd be way easier!

You know, until now, never in my life have I been outnumbered by Dutch conlangers.  ::)

I wouldn't say its a Dutch conlangue... It's the first Dutch sentence ever written so. (Unlessyou mean my language.)

I do speak a 'real' Dutch conlangue: Limburgian :D

That's not a conlang sadly enough... It's a dialect of Dutch.

So, what's the diffrence between those two?

Conlang is short for "constructed language," so one that someone invented, like Na'vi or Esperanto or Klingon.  A "conlanger" is one who makes conlangs, so this language you're planning on developing makes you a conlanger.  I also know that 'Awpo has one called Xsaan, making both of you Dutch conlangers! :D

Ah ofcourse, I thought conlangue meant something like 'sublangue'.

Yeah, if you read between the lines you'll read a question:
"Everybody is making love, why aren't we?" Or in other words: "Let's have sex."
