I ever wondered how to pronounce the words "meme" and "memebase". I couldn't find a solution.
Because this is a forum with lots of native English speakers I hope to find here an answer.

HRH I AM American, and I have said it "meemee" before and never "meem"...

I get confused about lots of words in my native tounge, often developing my own deviations from what everyone else says (e.g. "pronounciation" instead of "pronunciation," and an incredibly unusual one).  [nobbc]Also, the lexical sets are [a] for PALM and [ɑ]/[ɒ] for LOT instead of [ɑ] for PALM and [ɒ]/[ɔ] for LOT, so I don't have the FATHER-BOTHER merger, but it's different in how they're not merged.
