That was unexpected

For the last year I've been churning through sketches on the way to a new language. Playing with the most recent one, I came up — by accident — with a word that has gone a bit crazy on the glottal stops:

ká'aka'má'mé	yontsákye
káá-n-ka'má-'mé	yo-n-tsák-Ø-ye
1pl-3inan-make-FUT	3sg-3inan-see-PFV-DEP

We will make him see it.

This from a guy who makes fun of languages for decorative apostrophes. In this instance, they are like Na'vi, glottal stops (though they do odd things to following resonants).

Just a project in progress. The current working title is Kahtsaai, /kax.tsa:j/. Some applicatives to really scare everyone (the accented vowels are high-toned):

Tso'o tettsáapa. I cooked a duck.
Hóká tettsáapakoh tso'o. I cooked the duck with fire.
Hóká te'etso'tsáapakoh. I cooked the duck with fire.
Tettsáapapeis tso'o atsne. I cooked the duck for him.
Tettso'tsáapapeis. I cooked the duck for him.

A definite direct object can, under certain circumstances, be incorporated into the verb complex, which will explain the third and fifth example.

Not Cheyenne specifically, but various traits of the Algonquian language family have been an inspiration.
