I really love what the tech they used allows them to do. It really is like they're just kids with their toys.

Tell me about it. The best I've got is a remote control glid... er... Ikran!

^LOL, slipped up.

You could always paint it like an ikran.

There's actually quite a bit I could probably do to make it look almost exactly like an Ikran! Looks like I might have my next project...

LOL, your welcome.

Just make sure its original.

You get extra points if you can make the marking shift based on your fellings, lol.

This is awesome XD
I want them to release a version on the DVD where you see the entire movie in motion-capture suits!!!!! Let's start a petition :P

I'd really like to see the actor who plays Tsu'tey do a scene in the motion capture suite.

I'd be interested to see a scene done in mo-cap, but I think for the entire movie would be annoying after a while.

Still, they had enough camera people filming the motion capture sessions for the CG artists that they could very well cut together what a scene looks like through just live performance.

My favorite part of the movie.

Last week I found a U-Tube video of flyable model Ikran and Tourk that were built by someone in Japan, The builder commented that they flew quite well, wingspan approx 1 Meter.

Thats cool. My dad and I were talking about building a working r/c model of either a sampson or a scorpion.

Yeah, I went to get all my stuff together to get this started and it turns out... um... my parents sold it all :P

Because the Sampson and Scorpion do not have tail rotors I think building a flying r/c model would present some interesting engineering challenges, like counter rotating main rotors with independent control. In would be neat to see someone make one work.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one in a tower hobbies magazine sooner or later. Maybe not a licensed one, but something similar.

Well, actually, you wouldn't need counter rotation because you have one on each side. It'd be like an airplane with adjustable pitch blades. Adn independantly moving duct fan blades would be too hard. Go for a couple of servos that will tilt them opposite to eachother for the yaw, and to move them in unison for forward/backword movement. Pitch is easy, do the same as with helicopter rotors and change the angle of the blades. Just borrow heavily from the Osprey airplane design but with duct fans. Another version you could look at would be the Hunter Killers from Terminater.

I've seen this clip a dozen of times, but still I love it.

I wish there where more "behind teh scenes" things, I really love it how to see how everything is made etc. ^^
I was really surprised that they used real horses for the direhorse, but still I can understand ^^

It's incredible. James Cameron is so modest for what he's done, and undeniably, what he's done is absolutely mind blowing.

yea it is ^^
I would surely love it if I was an actor to play in the movie, it looks like an unique experience.

and it would be awesome if you could really see long pieces of actors in performance capture suits, it just gives you a whole new look at the movie

One thing that's kinda cool is that, even though the actors acted out the whole movie, they themselves probably still had no idea what the finished product was gonna look like. All they knew of the movie was wires and bluescreens and weird dots attached to their faces yatta yatta. Then they go to the premiere, and boom! They're pulled into the world of Pandora, with their Na'vi counterparts that look so realistic, and all.
