Eltu lefngap 'eveng is this weeks Mathematician of the Week! Seykxel sì nitram!
Eltu lefngap 'eveng has been paired with
Euclid .
1.
Who are you? - What is your name?
- Where are you from?
- How old are you?
These are just a few intro questions just so we know who you are.
Hai. I'm Eltu lefngap 'eveng, known around the interwebs as akiwiguy and on 'Rrta as Zarek Jenkinson.
I'm 14, I live in Auckland, New Zealand (even though I don't really like it here) and Yayo likes me.
2.
What brought you to the Mathematics and Statistics board? Were you recommended/invited here by someone? Or did you simply stumble upon it by yourself?
Yayo dragged me here when he first set up the board, and I've been here since.
3.
For how long have you liked Math? When did you realise that you either enjoyed it or were good at it?
I've liked it mainly since I moved schools (March-ish this year methinks). Mainly because my math teacher isn't a total pooper like the teacher I had at my old school xD
4.
What subjects/jobs do you do which involve Math? What do you do? To tell us how you use the knowledge you have!
Well, writing computer software involves math, so I use it there.
5.
What Math-related subjects did you take in High School? Or if you are a student, what are you currently studying? State what the course is about and whether or not you enjoy it.
I'm in high school, and since I'm only 14 I'm doing general Math. It's fun, especially algebra xD
6.
What is your favourite number? Why? Is it your lucky number? Date of birth? How did it come to be your favourite number?
My favourite number is 42.
Take a guess as to why.

7.
Who is your favourite Mathematician/Scientist. Why? Have they motivated you to continue your studies? How have they influenced you? What do they do?
My favourite Mathematician. Hmm...
I actually don't know.
I'd have to say Isaac Newton. He's cool.
8.
What is your favorite function in math and why?Do you think it's very aesthetic or funny?
Even though this is more than one function, I always like pumping random numbers into sin(x*tan(x+cos(x))) because it's funny to watch.
9.
Three statements about yourself - True or false? - The community has to answerWhatever you want - but at least one of them must be true. Keep the answers secret until the end of your reign.
Ooh, I like this part.
1) I occasionally sleep during Math class because stuff gets too easy
2) I used to absolutely hate Math
3) My dad didn't really care if I didn't study Math before the exam.
10.
Pi or Tau? Which do you prefer? Why?
I'm kind of in the middle. Tau is technically more accurate, or so I've heard.
But I stick with Pi because there's a button for it on my calculator.
11.
Do you prefer to work in degrees or Rads? Degrees. Don't ask me why. It's the default on the calculator.
12.
Calculatorly or manually? Do you prefer to solve your problem (especially in Calculus) using a calculator or your patience and skill?
Haha, calculatorly. I love my calculator. It even has Pacman on it, for when I've done enough work.

13.
Joke time! Come up with your best Math joke. No sourcing!
Do I have to? I'm not a very funny person. I could come up with heaps of Science jokes but I can't think of any Math jokes.
14.
Do you feel the temptation in tests to write your justifications in Na'vi? Have you? If so, when and why?
Oh yes. I haven't yet, but I was thinking about it.
15.
Do you like Physics too? Physics isn't too bad. It's a bit boring, occasionally, but it's okay.
16.
Real-Life Picture (Optional) If you want to see me, look at my Facebook profile in my sig. It's 0006, my computer is slow and I'm too tired to find a picture right now xD
17.
Do you have any other hobbies? No matter how strange they may be...
I do. Linguistics, computer programming, watching My Little Pony, drawing, writing, singing...
18.
This is the story Type no more than one sentence. The proceeding Mathematician of the week will then type another sentence continuing the story. A stickied thread can be found showing the story's progress hitherto.
Oh wow, here goes:
As our lips touched, a flood of emotion ran through my head, and I don't know if it's good or bad.
Thanks to Yayo for selecting me as the first MotW
