But ARE his points valid? SHOULD we seek to get this stuff right? Despite the attitude exchange over these issues.

I'm not saying every little thing here should be open source, but that perhaps it might not be a bad idea to make sure licensing across the site is consistent and that we are not committing any unlawful violations.

I'll agree that this is a place for discussion and learning and not for debating over legal issues. However, I think legal issues might be important; No one wants to be inadvertently committing crimes related to copyright and licensing.

If the administration is sure right now that licenses are in order, perhaps we can dismiss this in the light that not every piece of software developed by members of this community must be free, and the members have the choice to make their software free or not etc.

I grow tired of saying this, so it will be the last time.

Nothing is free, specious arguments from new elements present notwithstanding. As a previously stated example, this site is made available for "free" (donations to help cover the operating costs are completely voluntary) because that is the choice of Payoang and myself, not because someone with an agenda dropped in and demanded it. Likewise, I don't feel that creators of original material presented here should be pressured to subscribe to any particular licensing or legal framework if they don't want to. As far as legal risk, we make it clearly known that actions prohibited on our systems include the illegal transmission, or offer of transmission of legally copyrighted material, or posting vulgar or offensive content or content with an intent to defraud. LearnNavi moderators are here to maintain the boards using commonly accepted practices. This, along with the posted forum rules and CCA notice on the main site are sufficient, in my opinion, to cover any reasonable objections.

With that said, we now return you to the topic of this thread, which is mobile app development.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get the Na'vi Mobile App to work with a phone that's not an iPhone? I have a Pantech Android Touchscreen and I would like to know if I can download the app to it.  ???
I am everything I will be and nothing that I seem to be, and judging from the look on your face, everything you both fear and desire with all of your being.
Here's the question:
Are you willing to take the risks necessary to achieve that which you desire?
-myself

Plz feel free to correct me if i misspell or mispronounce anything. I promise no hard feelings.

yes, we have an app for android phones. You will need to sideload it on somehow because it is not in the Play Store yet.

There is a thread for that here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/mobile-apps/learn-navi-0-7-0-(android)/

I recommend the 0.7.1 in the original post, because it is the latest official stable. I am working on an experimental version for devices higher than Android 3.0 which is intended for tablets which are typically used in landscape orientation.

Edited the link in OP because we're using GitHub now.

I'd also like to mention that I'm creating a new Android app from scratch on my repo at https://github.com/tirea/LearnNavi and once I have it functional, I will merge it in to the main official GitHub (github.com/learnnavi/mobile)
