Version 0.7.0 has been released

Release Notes for Version 0.7.0 (Build 158)
-Add scroll thumb
-Add part of speech filter
-Sort search suggestions with shorter matches first
-Show more search suggestions
-Android release should now be feature equivalent to iOS release.

You need to have the option to install apps from other sources selected to install this.  (If it is not set, it will give you a button to go to options to set it.)  If your phone does not allow that option, you will need to find alternate means to install it using the Android SDK.
I lost the password for the key used to sign the last release, so you WILL need to uninstall any previous builds before installing this one.

Installation Instructions
Scan this QR code with your favorite Android bar-code scanner, or select it to download directly if you are viewing this from an Android browser, or to side-load the app.

Comments
I am not terribly happy with the interface for the part of speech filter, but I gave up fighting with the SDK to get the look and feel I wanted.

One minor known issue is that the letter headings in the word list don't span the full screen width in landscape orientation.

This is awesome! Thank you! Much better than trying to look things up in one of the dictionary PDFs. Irayo!

I was stunned and happy yesterday when I opened the app and it offered to download a new wordlist! Even more awesome!

This is an excellent app. I use it daily, it seems. ;D

However, on my phone at least, it seems to download a new wordlist only if I restart my phone. The 0.6 version used to update without having to do that.

Hmm... ???

How weird. My old G1 updates the word list without a restart. (It needs a restart for other reasons, as in out of resources, lately :()

When you leave the app, are you using the back button, or the home button?

It checks for a word list every time the main activity starts...  But Android likes to keep apps running as much as possible, and keep the last activity active.  So if you just hit the home button, then go back to it, it just picks up where it left off.  Either way, hitting back a few times or using a process killer should cause it to check the next time.  If that's not enough, I can possibly put in a check every time the activity is activated, not just when it starts.  Before the final market release, I want to add an option to force an update as well.

It's also possible that there just weren't any releases.  There have not been a lot lately, and there was a few days (Until last night) that there was no update.

I opened the app this morning, it didn't update. Restarted phone and opened the app again, asked me right away to download the new word list. I'll have remember to hit back next time, although it didn't used to make a difference. Eh, whatever ;D .

That barcode-thingy is neat!  It popped right up on my phone and I've got it all updated.  (I had it on my previous phone but couldn't find it in the market when I got the new one so this was super easy!  Thanks!)

Ok.  I'm trying to download the app onto my phone.  My phone keeps telling me that the app comes from an unknown source and that it won't download it.  Any ideas how to get around that?  It won't let me install at all.  It doesn't give me an option to install anyway, just says it won't install it.

In settings go to Applications, and allow "Unknown Sources" there. That should do it. (This is how it works on my Android 2.2)

Nope.  didn't work.  It's got the Android OS but it's a Motorola Backflip.

omängum fra'uti I remember you gave me some instructions to put it on here but I don't remember where.  Can you give them to me again?

You also could try to install it by using ADB and the SDK of Google.
Set your phone in the Application Settings to Debug USB and Connect your Phone with your PC. Windows should ask you for a driver. Don't let your Phone share the SD card, just connect.
In Linux, Mac OSX, you don't have to install any drivers, just start the ADB console.
To check whether your phone is recognized, type "adb-program name" devices. There will be a name and a serial number.
To install the program, type "adb-program name" install "application name".

After that, you could find the program on your phone.

Some phones have that feature disabled, so the only way to install it is using the debug interface.

Alternatively, get me to finally get off my butt and finish it up so it can be put on the market. :D
