Almost done (re)writing Fwew...

I really really do need to get back to writing this new Android app. I got kinda stuck at reading database.sqlite into the ListView in MainActivity and kinda just got very sidetracked. O_o

You know me... Too much at once, every day. :D

If only that were a quick fix of res/values/strings.xml and recompile... It's a text box in the background image.

I swear. I should make a very serious goal of finishing and officially publishing the new apk at least within this year. It shouldn't even be that hard. I plan to put the copyright, disclaimer, and about strings in an About page.

Today I got this error message, when attempting to update dictionary (Android LearnNavi app version 0.8.0):

failed to connect learnnaviapp.com:23.239.204.69 (port 80) after 90000ms: isConnected failed: EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)

Looks like the machine is down or has been moved...

No route to host sounds like something having to do with your Internet Service Provider not being able to provide a path to the server at the moment. I'll check if I can reproduce the error on my phone using same app version

It's hard for me to test this on my current 0.25 Mbps downloads internet. The file it is trying to download is http://learnnaviapp.com/database.sqlite for anyone else who can and would like to test this issue.

Apparently, there is no file there or that domain doesn't work anymore.

I've contacted Seze. She's looking into it. :)

If I can get the script to create the data file, we can move the target to the LN server.

That would be glorious. Seze would have it.

Also while we're here, I'd like to ask that the link to the .apk be edited on our main homepage. That Dropbox link went dead weeks ago when Palu cleaned out his Dropbox. The link at the bottom in my post here about "aww yeah I did it again + screenshot" is still valid. Unless you wanna upload the .apk to files.learnnavi.org so it's more professional than a Dropbox link on our site. :)

EDIT: If we move the data file for the app off learnnaviapp.com then I will need to edit the source code and recompile the binary and everyone would need to download that version because updates would no longer work on the current version people are using

Yes, I confirm this as well. I've contacted Seze, she said she would look into it. I haven't heard back.

Yeah I have scrambled to find a copy of the .apk and I can't find a copy of the most recent working version anywhere. O_0

Neither can I. My nexus 10 just had to have a wipe and the apk is not in my backups. If we can find it, I'll put it on the server and link from there.  - M.

Same here. I did have the apk in my backups, but the dumb part was, when I wiped, it took the backups with it because they were on the local storage. *fail*

I'm getting with Palu to see if he can supply us with his copy of latest stable apk so we can serve it on LN for reliability purposes.  At some point I want to resume work on the new LN Android app.

EDIT: I got it.  Uploaded to server.  New Download Link is now: http://files.learnnavi.org/downloads/LearnNaviAndroid.apk

EGGcellent!   Just updated the link on the main page.   ;D
