As AWESOME as a full scale Enterprise would be, putting it in Las Vegas seems to contradict everything the series represents.

Is that true? Seems to me that, whilst it may be true of the various sequel series, it was never really so of the Kirk ones and The Enterprise in those artistic renderings is clearly from the movies based on the original series (slight doubt with respect to the new film though since it was 1992 I'm probably safe there).

To me, The Original Series and TNG (The only ones I will EVER watch) are about pushing life and science forward. Vegas doesn't represent that at all. Vegas is about profit, profit, and more profit.
