I liked it myself.

It was very entertaining as a movie, but I think the target audience is exclusively video-gamers and comic/manga/anime fans.

I think that that's true about the target audience, but you don't have to be in it to appreciate the film.

I'm not really either (although I might be becoming a bit more of a gamer and am looking into potentially getting into comics and/or manga and anime) and enjoyed it, my Dad enjoyed it too although he's an old-school gamer so that's not too surprising but, more interestingly, my mum enjoyed it and she really isn't a gamer or comic/mang/anime fan at all.

I think this movie has quite a bit going for it, it is a rom-com, and action flick, a pop culture trope fest celebrating the things that people spend their time enjoying.
