Nah don't worry about it, I didn't really expect much from around here anyway I guess  :D They aren't my favorite but I guess I'm just a sucker for nostalgia.  :)

As far as I can see, Smurfs are not too popular here... ;)
Hey, we've got another topic for them: Who should be the next villain, or what...!
They look very evil, indeed... like clowns o0

The Smurfs were sort of like the Sponge Bob and Square pants of the 1980's...

Not much dating and love going around, all very platonic, like a large extended family of blue gnomes who live in mushrooms.  It was a bit bromantic...  A few mild adventures here and there with the main villain trying to eat the Smurfs, or steal their magical powers somehow.

The introduction of the two Females was a plot device, an intended trap set by the shows main villain Gargamel.  The trap never worked.

Ultimately, I think this movie is going to flop, it is many years far too late, and setting it New York reaks of shlock...  The show hasn't been shown on TV since the 1990's AFAIK.

Hank Azaria is playing him.

Aren't they?!?!
They are! I don't like clowns... they're scary o0
Do you know Steven King's "It"?

oh Eywa, i don't like It, he's the main reason i don't like clowns...aside from the fact they're usually grinning...Oo

Harry Potter is written many years after "IT".  Conceptually the creatures have similar shape shifting abilities, but the creature in "IT" is much more dangerous...  Both ideas are likely inspired by altered versions of ancient legends or myths about the changelings.

OFF-TOPIC: I think there is some latent creepiness to the mystery of those who hide their true face, regardless of the person under the mask, or the looks of the mask its self.

ON-TOPIC: There probably won't be anything new on this movie till early Next Year.

OFF-TOPIC:
I can definitely see how that might be the case for some people.

The handle is more like a nick name to me.  But, I more or less translated my name etymologically when the vocab was smaller instead of picking any old word I liked.

I don't hide behind my Handle, as you can see from the gallery and the meetup section, I gone through the efforts to have met some people from this forum in person.  Although I haven't been reliable for personal reasons.

The Na'vi AVTR is me, using zero Photoshop skills, and no artistic skills.  If you negative the image colors, you can almost see what I look like.  But you don't need to give yourself the trouble, I plastered the gallery with my fat ass.

To me also but on my atheism forum it serves a more protective role (easy enough to figure though as on SJS I am me [my own name]).

Do we have to go back to smurfs?

I was being cynical (kinda, if that's the word) however I offer a humble & unequivocal apology :)

No apology needed, your question was considered by me to be legitimate, so I answered it with what I knew to be current information.

you would the smurfs NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!
what does a smurf taste like?
Eywa Ngahu Smukan si Smuke.

Lolet

Somewhat sweet, with a strange tang. Very different from sturmbeest. Don't eat the white hats, though. You'll spend the night crouched in the bushes.  :P
