Star Wars 3D

Yesterday before I see Avatar again in the cinema, there was shown spoiler for SW episode 1 in 3D. It comes into world in less than two months, that's great. I hope it will be serie worth to see it in 3D.
What about other episodes, does any of you know what are plans about their releases? Seems that whether they will be available depends on success of predecessors.

The question is, have they reshot the whole movies or just converted the old ones? My guess is that it's a conversion, and in my experience that means worse 3D.

*sigh* Don't get me wrong, I like Star Wars, but...it's time to give it up. The original three (4,5,6) were amazing and are still an astounding classic. The new three (1,2,3) were a great prequel. The animated series is fun for the kids. But 7,8,9 rumors (which have been going on for some years now, and I have my doubts) as well as the whole 3D thing...no. Lucas, your horse isn't dead, but all this kicking can't be good for it.

I had the exact same thought when I saw posters for this when I went to see MI the other day.

7,8,9 can happen but people will have to fave that it won't be the Star Wars they came to love, it's happening in comic books and on the internet, if you want to know what 7,8,9 looks like (in a text style) look up New Republic.

This makes me a little tired. 3D can be fun but it's overused these days. It was cool at first but nowadays I end up not watching some movies before they're out on dvd because I don't want to pay extra for 2D in 3-4 layers. However, I'd love to see Star Wars in the cinema, if they were showing the original trilogy I'd be the first one in line for tickets

But I bet that even if that happened it would be some Lucas remix of it. (Han shot first!)

Anyways, if anyone catches it, let us know how it was

Agreed.

I have no interest in seeing a film that is "NOW IN 3D!" simply because it is, only in films that were actually properly made in 3D.

This comes out tonight at midnight at the theater near my APT.

I am going to see, and hope for some decent visuals for the POD race scene and such.

So, today I got time to see the movie. It was pleasant to see StarWars again after a longer time. Some key scenes were great, like race scene and final fight. But my feeling is that it was only "half 3D", I was not amazed so much as with Avatar. However I'm not disappointed - it was expected as film wasn't reshoot in 3D.
Just wondering if next episodes come too. Only about 10 person was in cinema. But movie is seen for month, so probably all big fan already seen it (I'm always the last...).
