Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

(1/3) > >>

Rogue Aw:
Since there's not a thread for this, thought I would post one. For those of you that haven't seen the trailer from Star Wars Celebration last week, here it is.

What are everyone's thoughts on the last Star Wars film of the Skywalker Saga?

Eìrä:
Amazing! I can't wait to see it!
I'm a Star Wars fan too! :D

Rogue Aw:
Have you seen the Clone Wars Series (2008-2013) I highly recommend that series to any Star Wars fan. My favorite SW character, Ahsoka Tano, is in that series. Even though it's animated, it is NOT a childern's cartoon. It's more on the lines of a war series, and, the characters do go into some dark places.

Mech:
i am not fond of the "new trilogy" because the movies dont seem to belong to the "Skywalker Saga". Rather they look like a soft reboot of the series rather than direct sequels of the return of the Jedi, and that was a disapointment for me.  The new trilogy doesn't use the old trilogies as a backstory and instead it has a new "backstory" explained only in encyclopedias and tie-in media.

The Last Jedi, where Abrams didn't participate, took a turn further away, and instead of tying the loose ends, it eliminated the much speculated backstories of
SpoilerSnoke and Rey
i had watched the first 2 or 3 seasons of the CW series which I loved. The stories were full of adventure and action and the fight scenes spectacular. There is an unrelated 2003 cartoon miniseries (now non-canon) called Clone Wars (with or without a "The") which would be worth a look. you can find some episodes or scenes in YouTube.

Rogue Aw:
I tried watching Star Wars: Clone Wars, the 2003 one, and I just could get past the animation, couldn't take it seriously. I did hear that they had really good story arcs. The Clone Wars (2008-2013) is my all time favorite series. Rebels was another good series, but, based on a new cast of characters, which was refreshing.

I agree with you on the Sequel Trilogy, not my favorite series so far, but, this trailer for Episode IX gives me some hope toredeem the damage that TLJ did.
