Cute dwarfs! :D

Ah, I'm still wondering about the spelling of that word. I think I had read Tolkien's thoughts concerning dwarfs vs. dwarves somewhere, probably in the appendixes of the Lord of the Rings, but I can't remember what the good term was.

If someone knows the answer, I'd love to learn the right spelling. :D

I like Dori's. :D

I do as well! :D It's really epic and awesome. The costumes are great as well. :)

Awesome find! :D I read on TheOneRing.net that those are Gloin and Oin. :) Hopefully we'll get a high quality version of the picture sometime, but for the moment it's still epic! ;D

Also, Peter Jackson posted a second Hobbit production video on his Facebook page two hours ago. :D

You're welcome. :D hehe I think I probably spend too much looking for Hobbit news. :P (If such a thing as "too much" exists when it comes to Tolkien hrh) ;D

Another new picture of Dwarves came out today! :)

I love their look! :D Although I find it kinda sad that their beards are this short. :P But wow, their weapons are incredibly epic!

It's not entirely related to The Hobbit, but still a bit, so I'll ask it here: I just got an Elvish sword for my birthday, and I want to find it a name. :) What do you guys prefer between those? I really can't choose. :-\

Bombur, Bofur & Bifur:

The two on the sides are INTENSE! ;D Seriously, I'm really excited: I think they're going to do something really nice with the Dwarves in the movies. It really looks like they portray them in original and unique ways that reflect the Dwarvish culture. :) Can't wait to discover that, I'm sure it's going to be totally fascinating! :D

 ;D

The clue is in the beards.  :P

Today's khazâd:

Does that mean Dwarf/Dwarves? It's what I can think of, from Khazad-dûm. :)

I really like Balin! :D The beard, the clothing.. :)

"Dwarves". It's the plural form of khuzd, which itself comes from the triconsonantal root (radicals) Kh-Z-D which carries the general notion of Dwarves and Dwarvishness. Khuzdul, the name of the Dwarven language, is constructed from the same radicals and is, evidently, an adjectival derivation ("Dwarvish"). The Semitic influence/basis is clear, and has also been explicitly confirmed by Tolkien.
