Anyone that are going to see the new Robin Hood movie with Russell Crowe?
I have seen that it has premiere earlier here in Sweden,
and that's today, so I'm going! :D
It starts in..... four hours ;D Can't wait!

Let us know how it is.   :)  I liked Gladiator, and I figure this looks to be a similar movie regarding style.  While some may claim that's bad, since I enjoyed Gladiator, I really don't care.

Le'eylan

Well, I loved it! :D
I think it was very well made, and I didn't feel that it was a "remake" of Robin Hood,
it was a new Robin Hood. And Russell Crowe did great.
I didn't think much about it similarities to Gladiator, and I don't think the both movies are so alike.
Both awesome, but different.
Robin Hood is anyway- definitely worth to see!

So Crowe's accent isn't brilliant, the two leads are Australian and his "father" is German, there are quite a few others with slightly weird accents and the French invasion fleet is just hysterically funny (I swear if they could have build flyable wooden helicopters with a medieval equivalent of napalm they would have done it) but despite all of that I absolutely loved it and I'll most certainly buy the blu-ray edition (maybe allow someone to buy it me for Christmas)

I will probably review it at Geekanology but I'm lazy :)

Unlike some other robin hoods,

Russell Crowe can speak with a non Californian Accent.

Yeah, it's definitely good, worth seeing at least once. It's definitely the best Robin Hood movie I've seen and it's very well done. Very different from any other Robin Hood and the twists really make it a unique story. You however MUST go into this with the knowledge that this is definitely setup as a prequel to the traditional story of Robin Hood. Otherwise you're gonna come out going "what the hell was that". Anyway, it's worth seeing, it's not great for sure, but it's got a lot of good in it.

Russell Crowe can speak with a non Californian Accent.

Even if it is Irish.

Backstory for non-Brits:

Russel Crowe was being interviewed on a radio program and the interviewer brought up his accent saying that at times it sounded more Irish than Northern and he ended up storming out of the recording.  :o

Hmmm, just listening to it, it could almost be audio of some random NPCs from firefly.

Certainly not appropriate for Northern England though.

In the film it's not that bad, it's enough that you can suspend disbelief though it definitely has a hint of Irish at times.

kewnya txamew'itan

I imagine that that'll be harder for us Brits. The old, nobody thinks they have an accent syndrome will probably take effect hiding the features common to most american accents.
