The books are astonishingly poorly written and are very predictable, however I find the Twilight series to be a bit of a guilty pleasure (for both the books and the films) you find yourself enjoying it despite yourself.

I don't wanna be evil here.. the books are okay and all.. it got me reading at least. the movie.. hmm well I dunno but is anyone else realizing that it's kinda rushed now? like come on.. the second one just came out and now the third? why are they doing this? I hope they don't create a horrible rushed movie..

i don't like how the movies doesn't follow the books... did you saw Harry Potter 6? it's horrible... the book is the best of all hp books to me, but movie is the worst, there is not half of things which are in the book...

but back on twilight...

yes, but so was the hp movies until the hp 5... i just wish that twilight will stand like that till the end, and that the movies won't ruin my thought of the books

Having not read the books I can't comment on them but my understanding is the first one is that it's okay if poorly written.

I saw the first movie and it wasn't half bad, a little cheesy and I'll never forgive the lame plot device of sparkling vampires, but not bad. From what I understand of the 2nd movie and it's plot though I never, ever want to see it. Someone prove me wrong.

I can understand the whole fangirl aspect and can see why it appeals to young teenage women but aside from the slightly perverted love story I don't find anything that special about this and am not really sure what's the true appeal here? Seriously, someone enlighten me, I'd really love to know why this is so popular.

Maybe, just maybe, this is popular because the people who are into it really LOVE it so they like what? advertise it to everyone? and decorate their personal pages/websites/blogs/etc with twilight stuff? or maybe, another just maybe, it's just popular because a lot dislike it and is doing "too well" in being against it. maybe..

I think that everyone has a movie they do not like at all.

For me it is not this Twilight film series, it is Battle Field Earth.

There is one thing that doesn't really impress me that much is Kristen Stewart. I mean, it is how Bella is supposed to act but I saw Kristen Stewart in the movie SPEAK(which was also a great book), and she acted pretty much the same way Bella did which is basically acting like the same kind of character in every movie that she had ever done.

She basically acts the same for all her movies because that's the only type of role people want her for. IMO she just doesn't have enough talent to do other types of acting successfully. Example of an awesome actor would be Will Smith, he can do every movie genre imaginable and do it well, with enough make up he probably could have been an awesome Bella as well.
