Haha, thanks!

It started out many years ago when I saw my first horror-flick, in the Creature from the Blue Lagoon (1957). I remember it so clearly, me andy my family were staying at our summer-cabin. I was five or six years old, and I wanted to see a movie that night. My dad was watching TNT or something like that, with old movies running late at night. But my parents told me it was bedtime, and that the movie was too scary. So they put me to bed.

But as I was kind of a rascal when I was younger, I sneaked out the window of the cabin, went around the house, and snuck back into the livingroom through another entrance. Haha, I hid in a corner behind an armchair, sat on a pillow there for almost an hour. Then my mom was getting herself a glass of wine, and I must have made a sound, because se looked over, and even though I tried to be quiet  behind that chair she found me.

Of course she was a bit upset that I had defied my bedtime, but both my parents gave me kudos for my sneakyness ;)

Well, since that day I have been a huge horror-fan, and probably watched most horror movies that are worth watching (and some that are definately not worth watching)...

And of course I am watching Ash vs The Evil Dead! ;)

Oh, for myself, I haven't mentioned that I like the Alien universe very much, because personally, I don't see as a true horror - I think of it as a thriller, rather.

I'd classify the first movie in the franchise as a horror/thriller. But the subsequent movies became less horrory.

Yes, I agree too. And maybe that's why I like first movie more then other aliens  :)

As for myself, I especially like the first movie and the Alien Isolation (game).

Hey again guys!

So I did some thinking after the little discussion we had here about horror-movies. It is one of my many passions, and I've decided that I want to share my passion about horror-movies with the world. I know from a lot of friends that I do have some skill for writing, so I've decided to open up my own Horrormovie Blog. It will contain articles about horror-cinema, what has changed over the years, reviews of classics as well as new movies in the genre.

Anyways, I started to look into where to host my blog, and I came across quite an informative website that introduced me to a beginners guide to blogging. The article talks about either free alternatives, or hosting my own blog. Since I got the idea from here, I thought it would be nice to hear what you guys say. Do you have any experience with the different blogging-portals, is it worth self-hosting etc?

So, I started out with Wordpress, as it seems easy to use, and fairly smooth to create a format that I am comfortable with :)

I've written a few articles/reviews that I will probably post very soon. Any ideas or tips?

It's a wonderful idea, but I'll let someone, who is much more interested in horror genre, provide you with inspiration.

Little revival ;D
Recently I saw few quite good horrors which I would recomend:

The Others (2001)
Orphan (2009)
What Lies Beneath (2000)

Did anybody saw any interesting horror recently too?
