I love music that makes me feel things which is exactly why I love bands like Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Spineshank and  so on ... they have real anger, real passion in the stuff they sing, awesome. But I also love some ballads for much the same reason so I figured a thread on favourite ballads might go down well ... I especially like the kind that seem to tear at one's heart rather than "fluff love songs", stuff that almost seems to highlight a kind of hopeless despair or inability to escape. Here's a few of mine:

"Martha's Harbour" All About Eve (original TOTP performance)

"Stay With Me  'Til Dawn" Judie Tzuke

"Chains" Tina Arena

"My Immortal" Evanescence
Apologies for that last video ... unfortunately the only official "My Immortal" video is the quite awful "Power Ballad" version, the haunting album version is vastly superior.
