Favorite instrument...
« on: March 19, 2011, 05:12:44 am »
What is your favorite instrument in music?  This can be anything, from a real, acoustic violin to a softsynth like the ones I have used.

Being an electro-ambient producer, I love my more advanced softsynth instruments :D

Whether or not it's considered an instrument;

I play trumpet, flugelhorn, piano, (keyboard, organ,) jew's harp, recorder. I can't decide, but if I have to go for the one I play most... I would say flugelhorn.

I'm a guitar player. I'm skilled or know how to play Bass, Drums Keys, Piano and Flute. I must say, simply the best instrument would be the guitar.... no seriously, The Korg OASYS. This keyboard sumply does everything, or you can get Omnisphere and use a MIDI controller. Keys and synth are the best.

Bass. Especially with brand new strings (which I could use some pretty soon).

Either the cello, the double bass or the drums. :) I've already played the clarinet and the guitar, but I wouldn't put them in my favourites. :P

A great Operatic Tenor voice.
Neytiri: Now you choose your woman. This you must feel inside. If she also chooses you, move quick like I showed.
Jake: How will I know if she chooses me?
Neytiri: She will try to kill you.
Jake: Outstanding. *takes out an ikran-catcher and walks through hometree looking for women*

Some instruments I have used in my songs: clave as a pitched instrument, and the diapason (a.k.a. tuning fork, really easy to resynthesize...).

The Mellotron--such an awesome sound.  ;D

For instruments that I have ready access to I would have to say I'm loving my software synths (Massive, FM8, Absynth) and orchestral sample libraries (VSL, LASS, and Kontakt). Between those two I have a universe of sounds at my fingertips ready to be explored with a midi keyboard and DAW.  ;D

You should try the Omnisphere software. The sounds in that are amazing. Lets not talk but watch, listen, GAS
