Can a Rock Head join you? :D
Volt, Watt, Ampere, Ohm, ohne mich gibt's keinen Strom!

Why not, rock and metal have common origin :)

Myself, my favourites are power metal, folk metal, battle metal, heavy metal and melodic death metal, but I like it all except for metalcore and numetal really.

Anyway, another good gig, saw Motorhead last night ;D

OHHH yes. :D Have you heard of Fintroll?

Emtokay

Fintroll are amazing

also check out Visions of Atlantis

As for me. I mainly listen to metal thats progressive, and all the above stated celtic, folk, pagan, symphonic etc metals. Rhapsody of Fire got me into that now I've gone onto listening to Extreme Metal (Cradle of Filth), Black Metal, Melodic Death and Death Metal. But at heart, I bow down to Thrash Metal. LONG LIVE METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX

Just something that crossed my mind...

I've heard this musical term, ``blastbeat´´ and i wonder what defines it. I've heard it's commonly used in Hardcore, Doom-, Death- and Thrashmetal. If anyone could find youtube vids with good examples of blastbeats, please link them here  ;D.

Pretty much really fast drumming.  Here is some in a song by Vader. ;D

Eyamsiyu

The blast beat is usually defined specifically to what is being played on the drums.

The most common form is that you play 16th or 32nd notes with the hands, the right hand on a cymbal and the left hand on the snare.  The bass drum is played with the right hand so that, whenever the cymbal is hit, the bass drum hits as well.

Thomas Lang goes into a lot of different variations of blast beats in his book Creative Coordination, but for the most part, what I explained is a blast beat.

Spoiler

Damn  :o! Those drums were played at ``wood-pecker´´-speed  :o!

What genre does this song belong in, do you think?

More blastbeats!

Anyone who have played COD: WAW Map Pack 3's ``Der Riese´´ knows where this comes from. This blastbeat is, IMO, epic  8) ;D!
