Ok, here's the deal: I currently attend Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.  For next year, I am transferring to University of North Carolina at Pembroke to pursue a degree in Music Business, in which my primary instrument will be drum-set.

My current drum-set is basically a good 30 years old and is a starter kit.  I'm needing a better set.

With that said, I have assembled the "master-list" for all the pieces that I will use for any musical situation or gig that I may play, including quantity of each and cost of the items (based on Musicians Friend and, in some cases, the List Price from the company itself).

The list itself is on an attached Excel file.  I also attached pictures of the 3 different setups that I may run into: small combo gig, Large gig and rock gig.

Small Gig: basically for combos of a small size, and also in a location where volume needs to be low, such as a "coffee-shop" gig.

Large Gig: This is, more or less, what I will use for most drumming gigs.  Based off of the great Buddy Rich's drum setup.

Rock Gig: "My name's Mike, and this here's my baby!"  Designed and set up for any musical situation that I may run into in a rock band gig, especially that of heavier genres.

List price ends up being around $12,000US, but I'll be looking around for the lowest quotes, as I KNOW a local store was willing to give me a kit for less than half the price.

Opinions and criticism is welcomed.

I would also like to add that I have considered getting custom front heads on the bass drums, and having it Avatar related.  Ideas?

I like the double bass kit the most, i think a drum kit that already is sold as a combo that you might be interested in is the new Lars Ulrich signature kit by Tama, or go to the extreme and see if you can find his sig. kit from the early 90's, the massive white one
