Kaltxì. So who's your favorite (rock, metal, blues,R'n'B and jazz only) guitarist. I'll start, my favorite and not only in my opinion, the greatest ever (guitarist and composer), Jimi Hendrix.

Yeah, Jimi Hendrix is awesome, even the solo of "Hey Joe", which he plays with his teeth ;D
I also like Jimmy Page a lot, guitarist of Led Zeppelin
Then Slash, John Lennon, Brian May & Eric Clapton

Top favorite: Randy Rhodes. (Ozzy Osbourne, before the plane crash) Perfect fusion of classical training and a passion for metal.
Next: Carlos Santana.  Musicality on a guitar at it's best.
Last: Nick Hipa. (As I Lay Dying).  Though some don't find metal-core to be really appealing (and maybe not musical), I have high respect for metal instrumentalists.  The amount of endurance and precision for playing what they do is appalling.  And Nick Hipa proves it.

I know this is listed as "guitar," but you've got to have some favorite bassists as well.  Mine: "Flea," the bassist for RHCP.

BTW, I like creed, but calling out Mark Tremonti as a favorite guitarist... I ask your basis on why you do.

Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Yngwie Malmsteen
Ritchie Blackmore (his work with Rainbow is classic, but his newer stuff with Blackmore's Night is spectacular if you like their style of music)
Sungha Jung (phenomenal classical guitarist for his age, absolutely mind-bending)
Paco de Lucia
Vicente Amigo
Heri Joensen and Terji Skibenæs of Týr

totally Slash. Then Eddie Van Halen

He had few good ones, but (as everybody) he ain't got even 0.0000001% of Jimi Hendrix's skills.

Eyamsiyu

I have to add another: Dave Matthews.

For me, Slash is now the best living guitarrist, he is also my idol, because I also play the guitar. Unfortunately I am not as good as Slash  :D, but my aim for future is to play as good as he does! :D
(I also like Kurt Cobain and Jimmy Hendrix)
